I'm horrible at figuring out diy
These would be great for my veg cab if they come in 2 or 3' lengths instead of four (my cab is only 20x39")
Can anyone recommend a driver for like 2-4 strips?

They have 560mm strips as well... about 22"

OR you could use 3 280mm strips for a total of about 33".

@PicklesRus would those options be wired in series , parallel or how would I wore them I've never even seen these strips in person they have molex type quick connects right? I think the 6 of the 11 inch ones with 2 of the drivers u suggested would be a really easy build
Sorry I haven't got to read this whole thread....if I bought all that could I mount then to angle aluminum as a heatsink/frame or should I think about a real heatsink?

1- Series
2- Push in trap connectors like quantum boards or samsung strips. You need solid core
3- running at current specified above you dont need any heatsink

If you are going to keep them that close we might want to check for a dimmable driver incase its too much.

If you plan on getting 6 strips you could run it off one driver. Ill update this comment with a driver for 6 of the small strips.

@goodro wilson Heres the best option i can think of for you

$122CDN - 13,530 Lumens - (11) 1 foot strips connected to a 350ma driver
$56CDN (1) Meanwell HLG-80H-C350A from mouser (max vf 257)
$66CDN (11) 1 foot 5700K EB Stripsfrom digikey (243.1vf)

Advantage of this setup is the driver has a dimmer pot/screw so you can adjust the light level easily with a small screwdriver. This is the smallest driver i can find with a dimmer screw, the others use dimmer leads/wires and you need a arduino/dimmer knob.

I actually prefer not to dim at least with external pot so if there isn't an option to dim that's fine I do have more headroom available I just haven't used it my plants usually finish around two feet or less two drivers still wouldn't bother me I could unplug 3 if I needed to but I think I'd leave them all on and raise them a little
Thanks for helping me out I have 5 quantum boards now for flower just looking for a little less power for veg

man what a slick little find, good information here PickleRus and thanks for asking almost all the questions I had Goodro Wilson.

I'm going to be ordering 6 strips and some drivers tonight. I'm in a similar sized space as Goodro. Currently running 3 vero 29 cobs 4000k I'm running the veros pretty soft I think around 50-60watts or something honestly forgotten been running them for about 1.5-2 years. I'm looking at 6 3000k strips on the Meanwell HLG-80H-C350A.

Do you think this is overkill for a 2x4 area? Also hate to be a bother but would you have a driver handy that could power just one of these strips? I'd like to make a little bookshelf clone cab, these lights seem perfecto.

You can run 6 but its really close to the drivers minimum you might want to run 7 instead

I dont think its overkill. I run 75w over a 2x4 and its 100-220par only

7 little strips at 350 is only 54w. For veg I would run all 11 - but you can add more later if its not enough.

Thanks, you've been a huge help.

I misread the build you had quoted, i didn't realize it was 11 strips for that driver. I'll go with this driver for 6 strips Meanwell PLM-25-350

Just for clarity sake I meant I was going to run these 6x 3000k EB series strips in combination with the 3x vero 29's 4000k I'm currently running, in both flower and veg.

I was going to put a strip on each side of my cob like so :)

I'm looking at the APC-16-350 to power 2 strips, I'm pretty sure this will work can you confirm that for me? I've been out of the loop for a while I really should re-read all the shit I read before but I really don't want to :)

The reason i am looking at this option is redundancy when I built my vero's i put them all on their own drivers so that if I had a failure I wouldn't be SOL waiting on parts I would still have 2 functional lights. Also I like being able to raise and lower the lights independently. It makes this a lot more customization for the height of the plants. I almost exclusively grow from seed, and usually different strains so height can vary quite drastically.

Thanks for your help. it's been YUGE! :) Also looking to put one 250mm PC fan on top of each light and enclose them in sheet metal, but that's for another day I'll post pictures when I get on with it.

250mm PC fan? Seems a bit overkill for 2 EB strips and a Vero...

prolly. But I got em laying around and no where to put them :) They've been sitting beside my cab for about 3 months, just looking for a use for them really :) the Veros are already on CPU coolers so it's definitely overkill but w/e. The cooler shit stays the better.
