Confused; 4x2 grow space looking for led setup

Spent a few weeks on this and still confused on what light I should buy for a 4x2 grow. My budget right now is of 800 cad ( 603 usd).

After having seen the hype all about COBs i'm torn between this light from timber grow lights "200 watt cree CXB3590 Linear framework" (not looking for DIY).

Or two "Black Diamond perfect sun MINI".

I've seen people discuss "blurple" led panels versus a COB setup and i'm confused as to what I need for a 4x2 space. I plan on growing 2 or 3 plants, 2 Cannatonnics and 1 White Widow ( thinking about changing the 3rd plant to different strains every so often.

What would give me the best yield ? 4 200 watt cree cxb3590 cobs or 2 perfect sun MINI. I'm not sure if 4 COBs would be enough in a 4x2 tent. As for the perfect sun MINI i've read lots of negative stuff about "blurple" panels however perfect sun seem to be highier quality in the leds the panels use ?

A perpetual grow is also something that has got my interrest, although with my budget this may be to early to consider ? I'm using marijuana mostly to self-medicate severe social anxiety without using benzos which means I need a steady supply (Also recreationaly on the side  )

Help needed thanks, :leaf:

so what diodes and drivers is the MINI using......?
lots of things to take into account when comparing lights , if its even possible. Lumens and wattage alone aren,t going to cut it......

I've got very little knowledgle in this, although I'm a bit wary of perfect sun.

" hLEDs: Bridgelux - Hi Powered 3w LEDs " is what is written on the page of the perfect sun MINI ( I can not yet post links ).You can see it in use in this series (youtube URL ) 6cA26mTIul8

If you did DIY... you could build a 400 watt unit and dim it down for the space you have...and rework it later if your square footage changes...

If you're in Canada my advice would be to order Canadian. By the time you pay shipping, duty, custom fee's and taxes you'll pay way more ordering from the USA and it will cost you dearly if you ever need to send it back.

BC Blondes makes a fixture pretty much perfect for a 2'x4' for $699 that uses 4 CXB3590's and draws 275w from the wall. You can see it HERE

That light is
  • Approx. 46,500 Lumens Recommended for 4x1 for $700 Replace 400+ Watt HPS
If you build your own, this is what you can pay for led and driver including shipping.
You can see you can build a fixture with over 10,000 MORE lumens for only 300$CDN plus aluminum and minor costs of connectors and wire.

He's not building his own so not much point talking about it ;)
I understand the whole concept but plenty of people don't have the time, brain strength, patience or trust in themselves to build their own.

I linked the BCBlondes light because it's basically the identical version of the Timber light but costs less.

Don't fly away just yet! I dont have much time on my hands but if I can really save over 400$ by going DIY then i'm willing to go with that route. Although I do not have any electrical knowledge.
You can't save over $400. By the time you add shipping and tax plus the cost of all the other assorted things you'll need you will be way higher than $300. You'll be lucky to save $200. That's assuming you have the tools necessary otherwise that's more added expense, even if it's a pack of drill bits or whatever.

But having said that, DIY is what most of us here love to do. You might not save alot but you'll end up with the satisfaction of building your own light which is worth alot to some of us.

Have you watched the first seven Growmau5 YouTube videos? It will clear up some of that confusion...

I'm all over graumau5 at the moment as well as numerous grow logs. Learning is happening slowly but surely :-)
