back in 2000 i spent almost 3 years doing side by side tests of nutrients,, then additives.. dyna grow foliage pro worked well,, but so did most of the nutrients,,all grew plants,, alot of time finding a mix on the 3 parts that would work on different strains equally..but my goal was finding a nute that not only grew good weed, but was cost effective.. anyways it came down to gh maxi and flora series,, both worked well with my tap water(water plays a role as some nutrients react different with different tap waters..i found advanced 3 part took alot of ph balancing w my water even then i found it was missing somthing the plants wanted..botanicare works well to,,all the 3 pat nutes gh, plant life, adv, botanicare, cant remember them all but all worked but wer NOT COST EFFECTIVE,,and filling 2 50 gallon rez is alot of tsp per gallon...
gh maxi is cheap, it grows good weed, and has a better yield to cost than any of the liquids i tried..
since then ive heard good things about canna, and a few others i did not try..
ill get the jacks in a few days,, ill start it in veg then flower on a future run...
as for additives, bloom boosters,,,almost all are a waste of money,, none actually increased yields..but i did find that silica works well as a ph up,, and seems to improve overall plant health.. 1 quart has lasted me going on 4 years now..
cal mag,, it depends on ur water,,if u use ro water cal mag is a must,,but i use tap and in 3 different houses all with different ppm's and city water supplies maxi seems to not need it added just different ph's in each water..
