Hi 1st time growing sweet banana peppers and I was wondering I these we're ready to harvest? I realize some are still green and no where near finished. Any advice is appreciated.
I have Ferry-Morse. I have some on my other plant that is long but still green. None of these seem to be getting any longer. What the name of them? Mine are usually longer when I pick them. Could be the type of hybrid. Or pick one and see how tastes.
Is there a process to harvesting them? Looking to make some sliced peppers for sandwiches.Peppers can be eaten at pretty much any point you like them at! The longer you leave a banana pepper on the plant the more yellow it will get, and then usually they start to go purple. But really if you like their size go ahead and pick! If it's the color you want then leave them a but longer.
Yeah I've grown basil, it's been a couple years. I grew a purple basil one year, looked cool but did not compare in flavor to sweet basil.Lol have you ever grown Basil?
I have a sweet basil but the bugs love it. I guess better the basil rather than my peppers or pickles.Yeah I've grown basil, it's been a couple years. I grew a purple basil one year, looked cool but did not compare in flavor to sweet basil.
Sweet Basil, Guatemalen Red Peppers, Sweet Banana Peppers, Sweet Mint and Pickling Cucumbers.Yeah I watch for bugs outside, but not like I do inside. What all are you growing?

I was meaning like a dry/curing process. I have shears I'll use to cut peppers off.If you mean how do you pick them, grab the pepper with one hand and hold the branch it's on with the other. Pull the pepper upwards, being careful not to break your branch, the pepper will snap off.
