Growing with neoprene...anyone else?

I am new to this site, but definitely not new to growing...I've been doing Aero with incredible yields for close to 6 years. My mentor has always taught me to grow using only neoprene collars (no rockwool, no grow plugs, no grow medium at all, except the neoprene the holds the seedling (and plants) in place, with the misters spraying the water underneath directly onto the roots. I am not sure if this is a widely used method, does anyone else do this? Just curious...

can i see pics of your setup im in the process of getting a new grow all set up and wondering if i should go ebb and flow tray setup or aero i want to do sog i have waterfarms now

I'll post pics tonight...don't do ebb and flow, its worthless. Aero is the fastest way to go and the highest yielding. I've been doing it for a long, long, long time and never had a problem. Once everything is set up correctly, it pretty much takes care of itself. Do NOT buy an aerogarden.

thank you will you help me and tell me everthing im gonna need its a 4 x 11 room and i want mass yeild as soon as possible like every 3 weeks or something

You probably aren't going to yield much every 3 weeks, unless you stagger the growth of your plants. Most weed I know about yields every 3 months. I'll post pics tonight to show everyone this cool "neoprene trick". This technique is very convenient for aeroponic growers because it introduces no particles that can break off into the system and clog the sprayers. Its 100% clean, and totally re-usuable.

yeah and you dont need a med but you clone them in the same neoprene you use the whole time right?

By "med" I am assuming you mean "medium"? Yeah you can clone and grown in the same exact neoprene collar. Once you plant it in the little collar, it grows in it and holds the stalk until harvest. Its neoprene so its flexible and allows for expansion when the stalk becomes very thick during adulthood. You can plant a seed this way (after germination) or cutting (clone). After you are done harvesting, you just wash it off with hot water and re-use it again! I was surprised to find that most people do not use this method...

I use 2" neoprene collars inside 2" netpots.

I don't use any medium either.

How do you reuse the collars? Mine are always too stretched out by the stem to use again.

You can't re-use them because, as you said already, they stretch. 2" ? Go with 5" and you'll be able to use them until harvest.

Sorry guys, camera is broken.

I'm currently trying this method.. I'm subscribed to see how you do it because i'm shooting into a barrel over here! I'm using 3 inch pots..bongsmilie

I use my 2" neoprene collars from clone through harvest now.

They cost me less than a buck a piece so I don't care about replacing them every harvest. I just buy them in bulk. Same with the net pots.

@StinkBud I know this thread is old AF but I'm currently trying out 2" neoprene collars you say they can grow a nice thick stem in them ? Thus no need to remove them before placing them in to system.

Thanks for your time

No medium---:clap::clap::clap:

Many grows without any medium.
