8 weeks? even in soil thats WAY too fucking long to not feed, the only way to get away with that is to have supersoil,(which is misnamed as far as i'm concerned, yet to hear anyone go a whole grow without having to amend).
i start feeding light at the third set of true leaves, unless it shows me obvious signs of neding it earlier.
8 weeks.......

i use them and really like them. they are an initial investment but if growing is something you're going to continue to do, you're going to need containers. these lay flat for storage and rinse out easily after each grow. they make awesome root balls!! can be difficult to water initially until a root system develops (leaks out the sides). the ones i mainly use are the .3 propagators, the 1-gallon or 2-gallon for veg stages (dependent on room) and for flower they're either in a 3-gallon or a 5-gallon (dependent on room).

Thanks for chiming in on that.
Say if someone only wanted 1 or 2 plants, how big could you go with these before its overkill? I mean, bigger the roots the better right?

I love air-pots - the root system it creates is phenomenal. The initial investment might be a bit high but they last forever. I start in the 1 ltr. and transplant to the 9.3 ltr at 2 weeks old. Make sure you get the original air-pots because there are no holes in the top two rows which makes it easier to water - I use hydro halos to water and never have a problem. Two weeks from sprout.

That sounds good, since I'm only looking to have 1 or maybe 2 plants, would a larger pot of say 10 gallons still be ok or does something happen if they are a bit big? I thought that the bigger the pot the better for root development.. But I am new to this so I could have misinterpreted that..

That looks great! I think I'll get some for myself. I like the look of that. Would you say having them in a larger pot of say 10 gallons would be ok for a final pot as per my above reply?
That root system looks excellent for 2 weeks old!
What are the trucks to watering in the beginning of root development? Does it need to be watered less? More often than a regular pot? Would you mind telling me what is different about these?

another tip, dont water them until they need it. I have 10 day old seedlings that havent been fed or watered since the seed got watered in and they look great.

A 10 gallon pot is unnecessary if you grow in coco - unless you plan on vegging them for 6 months. I yield over 1/2 pound per plant in coco out of a 2.4 gallon air pot. The trick I use in the beginning of root development is to start in a 1 liter air-pot with a 50/50 coco/perlite mix so that I can feed daily without the risk of over watering. Contrary to what a lot of people say - I feed 1/4 strength nutes from day one of sprout - producing explosive and fast growth. I don't know if the air pots need to be watered more or less because I feed daily and twice a day when they go into 12/12. If you do get these pots - make sure you get the original air-pots because they're made better than the knock offs and there are no holes in the top two rows to make it easier to hand water.

Ok I got you, I won't go that big then, a smaller pot has to be cheaper to run too..
I have actually tried what you said on a new seed, so we'll see how that goes. Its germinated and ready to stand up. hopefully it just keeps moving nicely this time.
