Can't speak for others ... I was just curious ... and other than actually drying and smoking them ... which I don't want to do ... it seemed like a good test. The process isn't all that complicated, just a bit messy and time consuming. Having a warming plate on the gas range that I use to simmer rice made it pretty easy ... just set it and come back to stir and add hot water very hour or so. The only surprise when I read the recipe was the decarboxalation process ... bake your leaves at 240-250F for 30 - 45 minutes. Gotta love the internet.

I have been saving all my trim leaves and using them to make butter… I just wait until I have about a half an ounce or so of the dry trim and then I decarb in the oven on 220 for 40 mins. When simmering mixture I use a candy thermometer and keep the temp at 190 degrees and simmer for 2.5-3hrs. I only make the equivalent of one stick of butter so I can just throw it in with a single batch of cookies per recipe, And boy are those cookies good… Eat a cookie and a half an hour later you're in the zone for a least three hours. Again this is only with my trim leaves and I've been doing this since mid veg and now I am 3.5 weeks into flower! Definitely worth saving your trim leaves! I've made about 6 dozen great cookies this way

Wish I had as much luck. I used 2 1/2 of dried male plant in a lb of butter and it was awful. De-carbed in oven. Sprayed ever clear on it. Stirred in crock pot on low for 6 hrs. Made a batch of cookies. Tasted horrible. Felt nothing. Made macaroni and cheese. The green taste was so bad I almost choked. Put me to sleep then gave me a headache.

Now I am afraid to try again. I have a couple ounces of trim loaded with popcorn buds. If I make kief first, that should remove the green taste. Yes? Has anyone made oil (for brownies) out of kief?

Either that or get a magic butter maker.

Yeah, my son made some butter once and it smelled out the kitchen. My wife thought she caught a contact high off of it. I wasn't around luckily, but it did seem to work.

I'm going to try a run of tincture once I get enough leaves.

If it makes a difference I used fresh undried leaves and decarboxalated them. Not sure what happens if they've been dried first.
Has anyone documented what dosage they use for butter on toast? Just tried 2gms ... nice clear headed buzz ... Next time I'll try 3.

She is a 3.5 foot monster!

My 23" WW auto, once dried, filled 3 quart mason jars. Can't wait to hear about yours.

My last NL auto is 40". 103 days from Germ. Starting to have foxtails. That dehumidifier puts out to much heat. Going to move exhaust outside.


Starting to run into storage issues. I have now harvested the 4 smallest of my 6 girls and filed 11 jars .

I need to find the best way to use it. I have given some to friends but nobody likes me so I don't have a lot of them. I was thinking co2 kief extraction may be a good way of using it up and making butter, oil, vape and tinctures without any green taste. I have the bubble bags and a source for dry ice. Any ideas about grinding up ounces at a time? Are the leftovers any use? Here are some pics of my girls.

I was warned that Cindy 99 was a hungry plant but I did not expect a Seedling to be hungry. She is the one with discolored first leaves. They have been discolored since the second set of leaves grew.

One of the things I want to do is roll up some thai sticks/cannigars. Put them into a nice cigar tube and they will make nice gifts. They are a lot of work but look like they are worth it. Hey, some guys spend thousands of hours tying fishing flies they will never use. Everyone needs a hobby I guess.

I made 3/4lb of butter, but that's not the issue. I haven't smoked since before a lot of you were born ... so easy does it. I'd much rather decide that the next time I'll use more than be really unhappy 1/2 an hour after I use too much.

I got the final count on my first 4 plants. I grew in soil so not as good yields as in hydro. Good equipment. Bad feeding and watering. Averaged. 76g a plant. The 2 plants still growing are monsters. Hopefully they will produce a more respectable yield.

I found 5 fully formed seeds when I was harvesting one of the autos. I went looking for more but found none. So weird. Like one bud got pollinated.

Lol this is the oldest running joke on the forum; whenever someone asks for a forecast about yields, the answer is invariably, 'bout a pound'. Doesn't matter if the pic shows a dead stick or a field of trees, the 'estimate' is always the same!

Some observations about scrog vs LST and toppping
First, an acknowledgement that a trellis net, even one with a 3" opening isn't suitable for a scrog. They simply can't maintain the necessary tension to enforce horizontal growth. Also, the netting tends to get into the nooks around buds making it difficult to safely move things around. If I try this again in the future it will be with a proper scrog net
A single topping and continuous LST gave me a very even bushy plant. After attempting to use the trellis net (3 1/2" openings) for a few days as a scrog I reset the net for vertical support and put the LST back on ... the results were immediate ... a very full, even canopy on all plants.
It would seem that a combination of topping and LST from veg through the first few weeks of flower will achieve the same effect as scrogging through veg and flower. I have a couple of HSO Black D.O.G. that are vegging, and I may try a true scrog on them instead of continuing LST.

If you have the patience for long veg times, i wholeheartedly recomend trying out nugbuckets main lining technique.

All the height control benefit, but only a frade results (minimal popcorn).

This is my first grow in ages, and i havnt been staying on top of things, hell im lucky to water every other day with my work schedule. Even so, the mainline is still prepping me up for great structures. Just gotta go get the support ring and its on

My new seedlings are retarded by a couple days. Not sure if it is nutes or light it is needing. I lowered the 148w cob lights to about 18". Still under 30k lux.

Since my seedlings are a light side of green they will get a nute raise on Tuesday, Their next water to runoff day.

Looks like it's going to be 500-600g for my whole first run.

First 2 months@ 1000w hid . Last 7 weeks at 480w cobs. A bit under 1w-1g. I will do better next time.

My new seedlings will only be three weeks old by the time they hit the flower tent. I was going to mainline them but I've decided to grow them as fast as possible without any high stress training. Since the next batch will only be 3 weeks behind I will do a lot of high stress training on them to try to slow them down.
