Defoliated day 21, they regrow... as previously mentioned.
There is an art to growing in small spaces. For outdoor growers or people with no space issues, who love paying for humidifiers, by all means. But when this pulls a g per watt or more ( which it will) ill be sure to come back and post it, scale numbers and all.

What you're seeing is 90% sugar leaves.
Day 21 right after defoliation. Everything is off except a few fans on the outside that weren't hindering bud sites/blocking airflow.
The time these ladies spent undressed helped bottom stalks fatten up immensely. There will be no Popcorn buds this yield.

I know allot on this forum are not native English speakers so just for those who are not, defoliate means to strip and remove all leaves. All, not some or most or a few.
It doesn't mean to trim or prune. Agent Orange for eg was/is a chemical defoliant.

Your plants need healthy green leaves to provide energy to your grow ...it will pull what it needs FROM the leaves as it matures and then deplete the leaves ( yellow ) as it uses its reserves.
What does fattening the stalk gonna do ? ....
If anything you shocked these plants ...... Do you you go outside and strip rose bushes for bigger blooms ?
You just dropped your potential yield by raping this plant ... Lollipoping is one thing but now your plant cant TRANSPIRE and now will be larfy sticks.

Notice the word strip.
When people strip a car it means nothing is left. When you go and see the strippers they remove all their clothing. When people strip a roof of their house it means to remove the whole roof. When a painter strips back a car for a repaint it means back to bare metal.
There is even a big clue in the name itself De-foliate

His grow looks OK to me. I just get annoyed with growers still using stoner terms.
Most of us prune and trim to an extent. But I don't know any apart from maybe 3 per light who defoliate.???
As the growers get more professional (Like Dr Who and other big name national growers) then hopefully we can become more professional in our terminology.
Using incorrect words or stoner terms that people make up their own definitions to , like Flushing or defoliating for eg which seems to mean two different things depending on who is typing needs to stop.
We need to up our game as a whole and educate. If we all use the same correct horticulture terms then discussions become easier and clearer.

Unfortunately most do not... some in Vegas, some in New Orleans but on the whole, strippers keep that revolving door they call a vagina, enclosed.
Yes, horticulture, great term. A lot of good has come as a result.
But the grey area here is de-foliate.
When I strip my plants 90% I call it defoliating. When I listen to others talk about their bushy plants and say they need to do "a little more defoliating" they aren't about to remove everything. And for some... defoliation is an ongoing process. Removing a little here, a little there...
Again let's not get caugh up in semantics... the point is, I've been REMOVING large portions of leaves from plants. And will get a good yield.
When you tuck the amount of leaves I had... on indicas... doesn't make a difference. Plants end up sweating on each other, and can cause mold.
I dunno about you, but I don't like mold.
I also don't like paying for equipment, like dehumidifiers, if I don't have to.

Yeah, once I came back from Canada, Europe, and even some places in east Asia, I couldn't go to American stripe clubs. The rest of the world has ruined them for me. Like trying to drink a bud light after a premium IPA.
