That sucks, well i can tell you it 100% works on a LG G4 with galaxy sensors app.I tried a light meter app on my phone, and it did not work. It said my phone did not support that function.

Thanks.Get a cheap lux meter. Get the light level at the canopy to 50-70K lux.
Everything I've read about using smartphones as light meters says they're wildly inaccurate, both apps and the hidden menus. Is this not the case?You don't even need the app if you look up the code for accessing the hidden menu for your phone...
Really appreciate this. When I weighed it all out, I was going to need to buy heatsinks from one place, stripper lights from a second, and drivers from a third. All of that with Canada's expensive shipping and it was cheaper to look at the existing kits. Everything shipping together will save money, and everything's going to take weeks to arrive anyway.So i thought id just throw an updated reply because what i posted earlier about samsung H stripper lightss has changed. I got mine for $9.75 a strip last week, but the price has gone back up to match other color temps and is now $13.48 a strip. Factor in shipping and 768 diodes vs 608 diodes and id say QB's and Samsung H stripper lights are about equal a deal currently, but you dont have to wait for samsung H's. Theres still other great stripper light choices (yes i just like saying stripper lights ) like bridgelux EB strips and maybe the samsung F series. With the samsung F im not sure how good they really are but theres more debate and info in the bridgelux build thread.
Good luck on the hunt for your perfect light, its an easy rabbit hole to fall into, realistically absolutely any of the choices from cobs all the way to F series and inbetween can grow you great plants.
Yep, like i said its an easy rabbit hole to fall into. Personally im a technology geek and i enjoy tinkering and playing with this stuff. If the end goal is just to grow some plants tho theres dozens of options that will work and when you start talking about efficacy percentages ect ect all it means is your power bill is abit lower.Really appreciate this. It boils down to your last paragraph - I've spent hours and hours learning about LED technology already. A month ago I was still measuring light in "watts" and the idea to run LED wasn't in the cards... fast forward through Blurple, then COB, and here I was... ready to go... buy some COBs and get going... so people start suggesting QUANTUM.
As the benefits stacked up: Cheaper, more efficient, smaller vertical footprint, add 12+ inches to the tent, less heat, etc. etc... I just decided to bite the bullet on one of these: https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/diy/products/135w-led-board-kit
One can only dig through datasheets for so long, after all.
A $10 lux meter is no more accurate, if all youre doing is making sure your spread is even and doesnt have a hotspot it doesnt matter alot how accurate that number is.Thanks.
