I like it when they say how terrible health care is in Canada. I'm a Canadian and have not found that. Have not paid for a single surgery, hospital stay, doctors visit. Sure I've paid through taxes, but it's something I don't mind at all paying for. The peace of mind to know that when there is a medical problem, I can rely on doctors to help me fix it. It's not a perfect system, but it doesn't leave anyone fucked in the end.

When other people are forced to subsidize you, you could benefit, but how would you reconcile the force used against the person who would simply prefer to be left alone ?

Where do would you get the right to force another person to subsidize you or to make another person purchase something they prefer not to ?

I would prefer that my tax dollars do not support our huge military-industrial complex, but I don't have much say so in that. I'm buying high-tech gadgets produced by General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin that's forced upon me by our wonderful leaders in Washington, D.C.

How is a single payer system different from that kind of taxation?

Similarly, I don't like the way the state takes my money to pay for the Louisiana Highway Patrol--those jackbooted thugs--but again, i don't have much say so in what my tax dollars are buying.

If somebody does mind paying for something and simply prefers to be responsible for themselves and make their own choices, are you favor of forcing them to abide by your wishes ?

I'm not in favor of confiscatory taxation, so I won't be defending the military industrial complex.

Horror stories include waiting years for a doctor visit..can't see a doctor when you need.

But I heard a comment from Trump in passing about looking at other countries healthcare systems and modeling them
