I think we're witnessing a potential constitutional crisis with the firing of James Comey. If his replacement refuses to go forward with the investigation, We the People will be without the rule of law in the White House and therefore we'll be living in a de facto dictatorship.

I don't think this is an irrational fear, especially considering the number of wingnuts out there who support the president's behavior, no matter how many laws he breaks.

What do you think about this?

It demonstrates how important elections are and what happens when the wrong person wins.

A lot is at stake.

This polarization didn't exist during the Watergate era when truth was more easily searched out.

It would appear that the right will follow party lines and suppress everything. Power is more important than truth, ideology is more important than fact, and the next window of opportunity is Nov. 2018.

Being ready as a unified party might get us somewhere. Maybe.

Trump fanboy? I disagree with Trump on many issues:
1. Bombing the Middle East. I am a non-interventionist somewhat aligned with the Monroe doctrine
2. Instead of free markets, Trump thinks he's a businessman and knows what's best for markets he has no experience in. Not one person can know everything! Trump likes central planning, such as his new executive order tariff on Canadian wood. It's going to put a good friend of mine who trucks Canadian wood back down into the States for a living. Log trucks are literally like half of the traffic North of Madison, ME on route 201 that goes up into Canada. Now Trump just screwed over all those loggers and truckers!
3. 4th Amendment rights. Trump is in favor of using the Patriot Act to spy on citizens
4. Health Care. His health care plan was horrible maybe even worse than ObamaCare. Insurance companies, PBM's and chain pharmacies have formed illegal trusts under ObamaCare and now Trump is tolerating it. So billionaires keep getting richer while patients and independent pharmacies are finding themselves strapped for cash.
5. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the wall, though there are problems with illegal immigration that need to be addressed.
6. Stricter punishments and expanding prisons. We already have an insanely high incarceration rate so it doesn't need to go up.
