if you have to have a book, go with cervantes or ed rosenthal, but don't just blindly follow what they say word for word. they both know what they're talking about...most of the time. i'd honestly say you would be better served by looking through the grow journals of some of the better growers here. hang out for a while and you'll figure out who has a clue and who is full of shit
there are some things that aren't really weed specific that will teach you a lot, things that apply to all plants.
knowing what mobile and immobile nutrients are, and how they effect your plant when they aren't in balance, what cations are and how they work, what brix count is and how to improve it, the general daily cycle of plants, knowing that stomata are closed at night and open in the day.....all kinds of little things that will effect when and how you do everything else
