I have some holy grail kush seeds that I've had for about 3 years. I cant get them to pop for shit. I've read about using dmso in a quart jar with an airstone to create a pressure chamber. Basically drill a hole in a mason jar lid the same size as your air line. Once u insert the air line silicone around it to keep any air from escaping. Are there any tricks or secrets to getting older seeds to pop. I got 3 to germ and lost all 3 out of stupidity. I still have 30 or so beans left.

I usually put it in a freezer for about a week or so, which decided me to store all my seeds in an airtight container with grains of rice inside then place in freezer or fridge. Then after a week or 2 take it out to sandpaper the outer shell slightly and do the paper towel method. But heres the kicker i use an incubator to prevent seed rot and control the humidity and temp.
Note: i use to have zero percent germination ratio on paper towel method. Now all my seeds pop.

1-2 yrs seed 2-3days. 3-5yrs seed about 5-7days. Small seeds 3-5days. My ratio now is well above average. These are base on my experience and have no scientific explanation. I have been growing for 10yrs or so and germination use to be the most frustrating.

Pick up a bag of dried peas or beans. Put a cup of them in a quart of water for 24 hours. Collect the water from that and soak your seeds in it for 24 hours, then put in soil. All seeds have enzymes that help them sprout. You are using the enzymes from the peas to kick start your seeds. Good luck.

Could be the way they were stored .... I just popped some baggers i found and forgot about ( at least 3-4 years ) and they popped.

As @chemphlegm mentioned ... A little scuffing will allow it to properly hydrate , then you can see if still viable.

I do this a lot and found that scarifying them first adds considerable advantages to germing

simply line a jar with sandpaper add seeds secure top and shake for a minute

then add to a solution of water and aloe vera sap/juice

allow then to sink /...8 hours max

and add to ur damp napkin

naturally the method of storage is paramount

good luck

ps u gotta see them a dried out

I had them stored in a dark vitamin bottle at room temperature.

Anyone ever heard of soaking them in h2o2 and water solution. Diluted of course. Does superthrive help seeds germinate.

the solution to germ them seeds has got to be seriously Ph neutral

the more '7' the better

most use boiled or even Rh water

tap water is fine

if you can see the rocks of calcium in the water impeding uptake

'baby. its all about penetration'

good luck
