My understanding is that if OGS sells them, then the answer is "yes". That's their thing, breeding for western Oregon weather.

OGS specializes in producing seeds of medical-grade cannabis varieties and cultivars that are resistant and fast-finishing for the Pacific Northwest outdoor grower.
In fact, indoor growers will find that most of OGS varieties perform super indoors, with better resistance to molds and improved potency despite their faster finish times.

I'm finding that I don't have as much room as I'd hoped. The plants I've grown from seeds so far have been 7-8 feet tall and almost as wide (unless I had them under a scrog). The OGS seeds often say "4-7ft" as the expected height, and I've read other accounts of these strains being on the shorter smaller side.
Anyone have any suggestions on how far apart (or more accurately, how close) I should/can plant them? They are going in the ground tonight or tomorrow.

My Donkey Kong X Cindy's Blue Cheese wasn't too big. But then I was growing it in the winter with a very short veg time.

These girls will have the full summer to find their potential. Good native soil in general plus good soil/fertilizer mix in the 3' wide x 1.5' deep holes I'll dig and fill for them, and lots of sun (at least through August and into the beginning of September) will give them a lot to work with. Last year I had only one plant that was not in a pot or under a scrog - an LSD - it's start time, planting method, and location in the yard were very similar to what I'm doing this year and it was the biggest plant I've ever grown. We shall see.

I'd go no closer than 5-6' between each plant stem-2-stem.
My tallest from seed was the AH 2 yrs. ago I started in a Solo cup that had to battle being root bound, stem/bud worms (the orange fuckers), and per-emergent Monsatan "drift" from ag fields w/i 500' (before flower) and still reached 6+' tall and 3.5' wide.
That year I had only 3 that I could trust (AH, SC, and LK) make it to harvest and did multiple cuts for clone runs from them during that time.
To save time/space next year considering that you're plant limited look into an aerocloner (search that w/ stinkbud or if you're a masochist read the Harvest a Pound Every Three Weeks! thread in Hydroponics) plans and build one. It's the easiest "set and forget" cloner.
Then clone the stuffing out of your best females this year for next years crop or a few indoor harvests during the coming winter. You can revert flowering cuts back to veg (takes an extra week or 2) if taken w/i the first 5 wks. of flower. After that the survival rate (for me, YMMV) is 50/50 @ best.

In an attempt at making this a full fledged OGS community grow thread...
I'm trying something unconventional and possibly inadvisable, and I'm not sure how well it will work. Because I have count limits, and because these are not feminized seeds, its hard to insure that I get at least one female of each plant. They "allow" us to have 12 plants (it used to be 18 ) that are under a certain height (been a while since I read the rules, I think it was under 12" tall), and I believe this was supposed to allow us to grow extras in order to cull out the males and end out with our 6 plant limit. My outdoor plants won't show sex until about the first week in August, and they will be 4+feet tall by then... so that paradigm for sexing does not work for me.
So, I planted in clusters. Each of the "plants" pictured representing one strain, is either two or three plants growing together. I tried to pop three of each, but in 3 out of 4 cases only two popped. Come August I'll cut the males and any extra females out, and just leave one female of each strain (hopefully I'll have one female of each!). I'm sure its not optimal to plant them so close to each other, but the goal was to make each strain cluster appear and function as "single" plants. At least they are in the ground in good soil, there should be plenty of nutrients for all of them.
I am mentioning that because my plants probably will never look "typical", since they aren't. These were popped on 04.24, and put in the ground on 05.21. They were all topped once. The Amnesia Hashplant apparently did not like being topped, and seemed to be somewhat stunted by it, but its otherwise healthy.

Your plants are looking healthy as hell.
An old trick a hippy dippy grandma taught me about sexing out your plants could maybe help you. Once they are sexually mature, place a brown paper bag {like the size for a beer can} over the tip of a branch on each plant 12 hours after sunrise, then take it off after sundown. This will make that tip think it's time to flower. You can do this to all your plants, marking the limb in some way. They should show sex after two weeks.

Thanks! They are in a hearty soil mix and get a solid 6 hours of overhead sun per day, and then some get more in the morning, others get more in the evening. The rest is good genetics.
Interesting idea, I've never heard that before. I didn't realize that the individual branches of the plant respond to light changes on their own (there's a lot I don't know). For this year, these are in the ground and they'll let me know who's what when the time comes. It could leave some odd holes where parts are removed, but I suspect they'll fill back in as the stretch comes on.

I'm not able to use this method due to growing in the bush, but it would be easy for a back yard grower. I try to spot males after sexual maturity, but I always miss a few. It makes for some excitement when everything starts to flower.

Not only do they react to shading but you can also use colloidal silver (and silver nitrate, I think) to flip the sex of branches once sexing starts to create feminized seed by spraying individual branches too.
NEW SMOKE REPORT:
Indoor CBC has gotten to 1st harvest (there are 14 outside already this year) and the scissor hash preview has been AWESOME!
Took off the tops 6 days ago. Spent the last 2 days in a canning jar @ 83% humidity and now back on the drying screen.
Took down the rest of the plants 3 days ago and the color difference between the two is amazing w/ the former almost a salable color with the latter still neon green so it cures quick color-wise.
The effect was enough after 1 pull that the thought "I really shouldn't drive anywhere for a while" became predominate but it didn't keep me from doing other things around the house until I felt comfortable leaving an hour later.
The aroma is a fruity diesel w/ the smoke being a spicy version of the same, @ least from the scissor hash, and I look forward to how it will be after curing. This CBC is definitely a keeper!
I know this is a really old thread. Yes, I know, BUT I cannot find a ton of info on OGS--this seems like the best place.

Will also use some pollen (from both?) to make seeds. (I'm also growing some Vashon EKI Bird, Garfunkle from Bodhi and NL1 x Big Skunk/NL1 from AKBB.)
Really excited about the OGS genetics and had great interactions with Deb as I chose what to purchase (also have Double Diesel and an OGOG hybrid tester for some other time).
It has been nice reading through this thread and scouring for other info here. I'll try to update throughout the summer.
Any other recent experiences with OGS genetics? Lots of offerings on their site.

I grew Maxwell's Silver Hammer in 2020. Finished in mid Sept. in Oklahoma, outdoors. 19%thc and 3% cbd, yielded 404 grams. Great, uplifting sativa dom. hybrid! Running OGOG, Oaxacan Iranian and Sugar Cookies this year, outdoors.
