I prefer CNN, they're pretty neutral-toned. MSNBC isn't bad, though.
Fox is losing large amount of viewership while MSNBC is gaining.

I agree I just wish they hired more POC to demonstrate they can walk the walk while talking the talk.
Also just as Hasan Minhaj pointed out at the WHCD how can you support less prisons yet show prison programs all w/end long? Don't get me wrong I like MSNBC but they need to rid themselves of the hypocrisy.

Here is a dirty little secret; news oultets want to be in a position of opposition, not support.
There is more viewership in opposition. Plain and simple.
So both faux and msnbc played chicken, supporting their candidates to a point but not fully behind them. Fox lost and stayed on the tracks too long. Now they are paying the price.
The nra did the same thing. Gun sales are at a 2 decade low. There is no money in satisfaction.

Bill Gates reformed his image somewhat with the Gates foundation. Microsoft was/is more than just an aggressive business. In the early nineties they were a predatory monopoly and stunted the growth of tech -- if they didn't own it. Netscape is a pretty famous example of how Microsoft would drive companies under that they couldn't control. Apple was almost a casualty except for Job's visionary leadership.
It took anti monopoly legal action to break their hold on tech. That story is littered with intentional dissemination of disinformation.
Their business model has always been "a bug in every box". New releases fix bugs but they never shipped a clean product and the new products were infested with their own issues. The security issues we have today stem from his company's poor valuation of its customers.
I'm not a gamer so can't speak to their consoles and gaming business. If I were a gamer, I'd probably avoid their product on principle.
But, yeah, Gates wasn't a sexual predator like some other wealthy businessmen. That's a pretty low bar to clear IMO. And the Gates foundation does make a difference in how I feel about him too.

I know the story, I'm just saying. Not that it makes it any better, but at least it was about something as petty as money. When you have multiple instances of sexual assault and degradation against women by prominent characters from a network, to include a founder, and you're pumping out nothing but propaganda and the perspective you want people to see? That isn't news, that isn't freedom of the press. That's mind control, and pretty sinister shit.

Agree, in terms social agenda and their abuse of the news rather than reporting on it, Microsoft, as much as they deserve contempt are many orders of magnitude better than the Ailes-run Fox news network. Not even close.
There was a time when Microsoft would simply squash tech that wasn't in line with their vision. If not for the anti-trust suit pursued and won by the Clinton administration maybe you'd think differently of them. They were pretty evil in the day. But it was strictly business. As you say, outside of the business arena, they weren't socially-politically corrupt like Koch Industries or Trump and Fox. Also MS has always been socially progressive in policies. It's a mixed bag with that company, which probably reflects back on the kind of person Gates is.

MSNBC has been steadily shedding journalists who rock the GE corporate boat. People like Cenk Uygur, Dylan Ratigan, Ed Schultz and now even Chris O'Donnell is not seeing his contract getting renewed, in spite of the popularity of his show. I'm pretty tired of Rachel Maddow and her increasingly strident coverage of partisan issues at the expense of in depth pieces.
I get my news from NPR and the BBC. I get more and more in depth coverage about everything from politics to climate change from YouTube. For news about a given place, local newspapers are still solid sources.
I'm always open to trying new sources. It's getting harder and harder to find real news delivered with thoughtfulness and context.

They've recently changed the TV channels at my gym. They're all on ESPN and ESPN the "ocho" instead of Fox now.
