Neem meal in Canada

Can't find it . Neem as far as I know was listed as a pesticide in canada and is super hard to get ahold of. Something about company's complaining it didn't have to be registered as a pesticide even though it is proven to be effective so made companies register it.had to drive to states to even get the oil.

Try looking for neem seed meal. Down to Earth carries it. Remote areas can be hard...but if you have a nursery or grow store nearby they will probably order it for you and save you on shipping. A five pound box can't cost that much to ship tho right? Its totally worth it. If I could only use one fert (besides compost obviously), this would be the one I would choose.

All other amendments I can source locally, or I use the gaia green products.
Unfortunately Amazon.ca doesn't have neem meal either, and buildasoil won't ship, must be because of what getgrowing said. Brutal.
I do have some neem oil, there is no benefit of the oil other than a pesticide though right?

Neem oil yes only for foiler for spider mites works for PM too.... (only pests I ever get).
This is where I get Neem and Karaja meal from and it's the best organic.... Don't know if they ship to Canada or not... neemresource.com

Yes, if added to the mix in advance. Top dressing alone isn't as effective IME, but when it is present in the mix, the top dressings seem to make it more effective.
This is based on 2 seasons growing. The first season was in progress when I first got neem cake and was limited to top dressing. Pest deterrance was Meh. The second season, all fresh mix and recycled mix (~20cf total), had neem cake added @1cup/cf and top dressed during the season. Pest problems were next to zero.
Have used it ever since.

It does! It can be steeped in water and applied as a root drench to deal with gnats.

Got several yards mixed up with DTE products ....guna need it in approx a month .....if I add neem to it now will it benefit for pests .....green house grower BTW

"Several" yards!? The 44# bag for sure, that's a lotta cups you'll be needing. Then again, still had good success with 1/2cup/cf on the reamends. So, as long as some gets added.

Yeah you can add neem in whenever it's my go to cure all along with some fresh castings. And yes it will have the pest benefit.

While we are on Neem Cake Meal, FYI not your ONLY source for pest prevention. Anyone that grows indoors or in greenhouses should be working with a weekly IPM regimen. Can include Neem Meal or not.
We can make a tea with Neem Meal as well and foilar spray on (well diluted) to prevent the common issues we have but should be only "part" of your strategy against pests. The Neem Cake used as a foilar is a little bit easier on plants than its cousin Neem Oil. I only use the oil with a full on infestation.... break the oil out as a last ditch effort... it's very strong and it hard to clean up... doesn't taste that great either so not for flowers.
Neem Meal is also used for soil building and an amendment to promote healthy plants and strong roots.
Works well alongside Karanja Meal .... both are "must haves" in my organic soil mix.

Here's a little tip for folks worried about mold and PM.
Make some Horsetail Fern tea & dilute with water and foiler on plants in VEG (can spray flowers with it as well). The Horsetail Fern is growing right now in damp areas around water drainage and streams that get full sun. Can harvest and dry and use when needed. You may be able to find Horsetail Fern growing beside Stinging Nettle... another great plant to make a tea for you and your plants.Can order the tea already dried from the usual places (a-zon for example).
The Horsetail Fern tea, is organic & will kill PM/mold spores before they get a grip on the plants. What happens is the spores get on the leaves in VEG... bide their time until conditions are ripe for growing which is in flower when the flowers are large sticky and dark in the center.. The Horsetail Fern tea kills the spores. Once you have mold its very difficult to stop it and it will continue growing even after harvest, which can decimate your hard work.
I found the Horsetail Fern tea deal from the Bio dynamic Farming deal featuring Rudolph Steiner and friends.

Gotcha.... try Ahisma Brand organic Neem and Karanja meal going to be the best quality... or not.
