Glass is the cleanest way other then bamboo...Glass burns at like 3000 something degrees and will not fume, melt, give off bad chemicals or anything, its the cleanest safest way.If its glass on glass then it rquires no rubber seals which is even better:-P:weed:

my bowl is made from copper pipe. every now and then, I just put the whole thing in the dish washer on a quick sanitize cycle. makes it shiny like new.
thats so gross!! how can you grow and not smoke out of glass?

haha, what's the problem? we drink out of copper pipes every day. when you solder pipes together, how hot do you think they get without melting? the inside of it is lined with a hard epoxy anyway. I got a cheap metal bowl over the weekend, with brass screens. all weekend, I was getting bad resin tasting hits. I just got it to use in a bong making project. my copper pipe bowl always has a nice fresh tasting hit. it's like a long narrow shape, so you don't end up with ash on top of unburned bud.

Potential Health Effects
----------------------------------

Inhalation:
Inhalation of dusts and fumes of metallic copper causes irritation of the upper respiratory tract, congestion of nasal mucous membranes, ulceration and perforation of the nasal septum, and pharyngeal congestion. Inhalation of copper fumes may give rise to metal fume fever (high temperature, metallic taste, nausea, coughing, general weakness, muscle aches, and exhaustion).
Ingestion:
Copper ingestion causes nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, metallic taste, and diarrhea. Ingestion of large doses may cause stomach and intestine ulceration, jaundice, and kidney and liver damage.
Skin Contact:
Causes irritation to skin. Symptoms include redness, itching, and pain. Exposure to copper dust may cause a greenish-black skin discoloration.
Eye Contact:
Small copper particles in the eyes may cause irritation, discoloration, and damage.
Chronic Exposure:
Prolonged or repeated exposure to copper can discolor skin and hair and irritate the skin; may cause mild dermatitis, runny nose, and irritation of the mucous membranes. Repeated ingestion may damage the liver and kidneys. Repeated inhalation can cause chronic respiratory disease.
Aggravation of Pre-existing Conditions:
Persons with pre-existing skin disorders or impaired liver, kidney, or pulmonary function or pre-existing Wilson's disease may be more susceptible to the effects of this material.

dust I can see, yes.. but I cleaned up my pipe nicely on a bench grinder, sanded it, then cleaned it in a dish washer on sterilize. it is solid and clean, no metal dust, no melting. you can take a nice long hit and it barely gets warm. my next pipe will be pure lead! :-D

the pipe never gets even as hot as spicket water. 150f water coming from a copper pipe is safe. I'm not eating the thing, I never taste any metal. I think people unjustly worry.

coffee stirrers are sometimes useful too. they're extremely cheap. put a little masking tape on the end of one and make a small flag to label the pots.
