watched an interesting special on coal last nite on PBS. there is a coal fired power plant just east of pittsburgh since the 60's. one guy was saying when it first started until the EPA got involved, there would be a layer of orange and black dust on his car every morning. further along, the same plant spewed out a hundred thousand pounds of contaminants yearly before the EPA.
