It is people jumping to accept nonsense logic like this theory that have ruined politics.
The biggest names in many industries are often overpaid because having them under contract offers the owner of the contract very large benefits beyond the actual services they render. But nowadays in the world of politics for amateurs, conspiracy stories sound much better.
