Cops and pasted here, for thread relevance;
Really? The best selling book in 2016 sold 7 million copies. If wholesale is $10 a book- generous- that's $70 million. Sooooooo best case scenario HMP is gonna make $5 million? BEFORE the costs associated with actually printing it?
Unlikely. However, they CAN write off the loss as a business expense and let the taxpayer cover it.
[Again, you're here in the wrong thread.]
First off, they would need to lose money overall in order to write it off.
Second, I do not think you have the slightest idea of what goes into the calculations behind that advance regardless of your utterly shitty article
Thirdly, please plot the payoff conspiracy theory for why Johnny Depp gets paid upward of $20 million for Alice: Through the Looking Glass. Or perhaps why Tiger Woods gets paid so much regardless of the fact that his products do not sell.
It is people jumping to accept nonsense logic like this theory that have ruined politics.
The biggest names in many industries are often overpaid because having them under contract offers the owner of the contract very large benefits beyond the actual services they render. But nowadays in the world of politics for amateurs, conspiracy stories sound much better.
Sad. Fucking embarrassing.
