If you applied your popular vote, the dems vote would have won over Lincoln. You can only run one dem today so those votes would have went to either or.

the ec isn't to protect minorities per say....it is to protect from the tyranny of the majority.

the majority supported dem slavery over lincoln. put your identity crap down for a sec.

lincoln won the popular vote easily and the electoral college was designed to give special rights and extra privileges to the slave states you came from.

lincoln was a liberal and opposed by racist conservative southerners like yourself.

popular vote you propose today applied then would have put all Democratic votes to the one Democratic candidate running against Lincoln.
