Is it OK to reuse coco coir so I don't have to haul it out to trash?

When I finish my grow and after I remove the root ball can I reuse coco coir. The garbage men don't like picking up that weight and may just leave it if it is too heavy just drawing more attention from my neighbors.

I realize it still has some small roots. I am assuming they will decompose anyway. Or can this cause a problem?

If it remains damp for a week before I reuse it can this be a problem? I notice when you buy it it is somewhat damp.

Siv it out as much as possible.
Use cannazym or something similar to help break those micro roots down.
It been damn, not wet, shouldn't be an issue. I took a 9 month break and kept 100s of liters of it in plastic containers.
I had to mix in some new stuff but yeah its fine. I did buy some yukka which is a wetting agent to make sure when I reused it, it soaked up nutrients evenly without any hydrophobic areas.
After I siv it I take most of the roots and let it dry out and chuck it on the fire. Burns a treat.

If I don, t add anything to break down roots, just sift will it still be OK? Still damp from just a touch of nutrient RO water I watered with last couple of days before cutting. It has only been 5 days since this coco was in service.

Yeah it will be fie, it will just take a bit longer to break down. The cannazym is designed to break down break down old roots. But you don't have to use it.
What I do is after chop I leave 6" of the thick main stalk in and the pot stays in the flower room for a week which dries it out considerably. Then I just chuck them in a big tub until I can be bothered to break it down and sift through it.
You'll be fine, don't leave leaf matter in there though, that will go mouldy.

Greetings, I reuse it. I used to add cannazym, now I add compost to it to feed on the organic material left in there. A lot cheaper. I got atleast 60 gallon of it in scattered around waiting for reuse again.
