Base soil mix

I posted this on the newbie central thread but i thought id give it a go here with a few amendments to the post.

So here is the deal. I am currently doing my first grow and needless to say it has been a huge learning curve, Many mistakes were made and have been learnt from.
One of these problems has been a poor soil mix. I live in South Africa and good a quality base soil mix to grow weed in isn't readily available.
I therefore have to mix my own and before my next grow i need to figure out what to get and mix together. So if there are any soil scientists out there who could give some advice that would be great.
Keep in mind in my case simple is better because simple is pretty much all i can get here.

So basically I need to put together a good base soil mix that has quite a bit of nutes in. I will be using some bottled nutes but the ones i can get here aren't great so i need to have the best soil i can put together.

I cannot stress the simple part more. I'm super limited with what i can get here.

Hey HOWZIT. about 5cm deep shredded leaves, grass clippings, straw etc left to decompose over the soil over winter, you probably won;t be planting before Sept or Oct, so enough time left.
I add a thin layer of compost and a sprinkling of bone meal underneath, mostly to feed organisms in and on the soil. The calcium in the bone will also help loosen up soil.
Just leave it to stew until spring comes around. You can water it with kelp now and again.
