Looks awesome!6" x 22 " samsung 561 c s6 558 led panel i had made
thanks i am STILL laughingIts now considered the greatest board of all time!!!!!!!!!!
Seems to me its just a matter of dialing in the right intensity via the spacing and output of the strips. One of the reasons I'm looking forward to someone building out a strip grid with the Samsung F-Series strips, which use double rows of the 561C chip. They produce a near-4 ft length version to retrofit 4-ft flouro light bays, hence to length I believe.i
i am noticing cumulative effect of the strips..
at a distance we are not in serious umol land like under the 6 x 22 panel
i can see this grid getting close to the canopy and flowering 4.5 x 4.5 ft..
which adds a fair bit more real estate..but it does dilute the photons..with the 12. mm spacing
and hopefully keeping it 6" from the tops will help
will update when i hook up the 240 and get up to 600w
well said Baud..
the even [and diluted] spread may or may not be the best thing to do..
That seems really low, at 15 inches a 1000w hps has about 2000 umol , maybe good veg light?i took the strip panel and did some quick measurements with the hydrogalaxy par meter
600w 3ft x4ft panel at 12"
basically it was between 440 and 520.umols..i saw 400 near the edges and the highest was in the middle
i will be running it over plants next time..i am thinking @6" it should be good enough
ok here is another bit:
when the whole 15 strips were hooked up to one lead there was drop off ,,
when i attached both driver leads one on 8 and one on 7..they were basically the same.
i will hook the 10 strip the same way next time i am there.
He's not using 1000w so I'm not sure what your point is. maybe link some info on 600w bulbs so it can be a equal comparisonThat seems really low, at 15 inches a 1000w hps has about 2000 umol , maybe good veg light?

400-500 umol is less than a 600w hps, it's also less than a 315 cmh....1000w hps is like 4-5 more powerful at 3 inches higher testing area(we are talking SE lights not DE, DE difference would be greater). He's not using 1000w so I'm not sure what your point is
The cmh drops below 300 after 2 feet. And what does distance from canopy have to do with anything? I'd rather not have to raise my light to 3 feet to get a useable amount of light. It's cool that your an hps fanboy but please present some valid information.400-500 umol is less than a 600w hps, it's also less than a 315 cmh....1000w hps is like 4-5 more powerful at 3 inches higher testing area(we are talking SE lights not DE, DE difference would be greater).
Here's a chart of a 315 watt cmh , it's testing around 600-750 in the middle @ 24 inches (he tested at 12).

Distance to testing area is one of the biggest factors, the closer the light, the higher the output, it's a law called the law of the inverse square. CMH lights can be run MUCH closer than 24 inches ive had my plants nearly touching them. Furthermore i have provided more information than you, have since you have provided none other than your opinion. The cmh drops below 300 after 2 feet. I'm not trying to bash you at all, i just think those are lowish light levels for growing cannabis, it looks like it would be great for growing trays of greens. Also i'd like to explain a basic part of the grow room that can help you tremendously, 600w of any light source is equal to 600w of another in heat, all watts are created equal, this is a law called the first law of thermodynamics.hi yoda and yer sunny hps face..
i bought my first HID in 1979
1.at 6" they will be awesome ppf..there is no need to run them at 12"..there is virtually no heat compare to hid
and no reason i cannot run them at 4"..which should be nuts and it covers a large area evenly.
butnithink 6" should do fine
2. i checked out those 12/24 v tape strips already..they look cool go for it dude!
3. done fluro's..nah
When you move closer you lose light spread... Still not making a valid point. If 500 isn't enough to grow then a cmh has a 2x2 flowering footprintDistance to testing area is one of the biggest factors, the closer the light, the higher the output, it's a law called the law of the inverse square.
