Someone's having a meltdown. Seriously dude if you didn't have a hurt ego yourself you wouldn't care what other people thought of you. Get over it.

Also if you don't want people to post comments on your thread then please don't even start one. This is a forum dumbass. If you don't want anyone to comment then build a website.

actually the schematic is correct. after reviewing your history you seem laser focused on me or MMA fighters. You lack any substance or credibility. You are just a foot soldier for greengenes707 or an alter ego who knows how low greengenes707 would go. I am telling you to go away and start your own thread about dimming or go back to talking about MMA fighters what you seem to know best fighting. go figure. Just another bully behind a keyboard with too much time and not enough friends, and take your girl;friend with you that only seems to focus on me too, another greengene4s707 phantom.
I would say namaste but you two can nt recognize respect just acting like bullies and cowards. How is that working for you. Got many friends or just greengenes707 on youtube. so sad he can only attract this kind of low life people to him. says a lot for his own character sending you to do his dirty work while keeping his hands clean like most slugs behave even politicians.
How can I know which schematic you refer to? The common emitter you refer to as an emitter follower?

The transistor in question was a n23904, you and another user had the pinout incorrect.

MMA has nothing to do with you being schooled on electron flow.

Maybe spend more time in the datasheets than in my history and you'd know the common EBC pinout for a TO29.

Doctor greengenes707 bully fan boy what do you know other than disrespect keep it up you do well at being nasty
Seriously dude, stop mentions me for attention and spewing liable. Stop thinking that everyone that opposes your ideas is me. That is just paranoia and self absorbed. Everything that you attempt to portray on others permeates out of every sentence you type. You have brought all this on yourself and I have nothing to do with it. Welcome to reality. Learn to reap what you sow...if you can't handle it...sucks to suck.

And why you're at it...be an "avid learner" and learn to tag me correctly if you are going to talk shit.

Some of you are behaving like children and I now wish to comment on it.

It is clear that wietefras has a solid understanding of microcontrollers and no one disputes that. Apparently his objection is that VegasWinner's creation/product is overly complicated and he feels inundated by the posts in this thread. Is that worth causing a fuss over? (Also, who hurt you?) While I applaud his skills with microcontrollers, I find his behavior arrogant and frankly, appalling. Is your goal to have us bow to your intellectual superiority? Are you trying to inspire others to pick up an Arduino and code it themselves? These are rhetorical questions, by the way. Just so that I am clear, your behavior is disgusting and I have lost any respect I had for you. With great power comes great responsibility---try to remember that.

Same for Gromax 3590B, Greengenes707, Mrtwist1 (possibly others), but I think you are simply trolling for different reasons that I won't bother to think about.

NAMASTE.

This is not just about his inability to understand how to dim Meanwell drivers without an extra 10V power source. Or the ridiculous way how he derided the dozen or so people who tried to explain to him how it IS possible.

The problem is that over and over he is giving completely wrong advice. When someone corrects him he goes nuts.

He advised someone to use an AC dimmer on his led drivers!

It's also not about him posting a lot in this thread. It's about him flooding the whole forum with posts about his hobby project at any possibility when the subject of dimming is even only remotely connected. Worse still, he blames others for paying for commercials while he is spamming the forum?

If anyone is "disgusting" it's him.

I dont bow for wietefras his "intellectual superiority". I can learn some things from him and i did. Good for me that i think things over first and don't just do what others (vegaswinner) say or do. This thread is about dimming and it should be no problem to discus over worse, good and better methods. If is say that it is possible to dim the driver with a 250 watt variable resistor between the output wires of the driver I would be glad if someone corrects me. This about learning. Not about ego.

Why again the name calling? I can easily talk shit and back it up but what's the point? it won't help anyone. Just think why I haven't posted shit for a while?

Some message for vegaswinner and for everyone that wants a good idea. If u want to try the 12 bit PWM engine I mentioned before u can buy the 16 channel 12 bit PWM servo driver development board in the link. The adafruit librarys in the other link works with this board. If u use this board u dont have to refresh the PWM cycle with your arduino or other mcu/mcp. This thing costs about 2 dollar!!! If u like the chip u can always make your own pcb with the nxp9685 chip and other needed components like arduino chip/esp8266 chip/sensors/relais/ssr/whatever so that u dont need all that development boards to make just one simple device. Inshah allah.

I just purchased a coralux storm led controller with 10v converter and an IOT power relay. Will this work to dim my hlg 185 down to zero and eliminate my need for a separate timer?

contact MEAN WELL
for other options."

I spoke with meanwell and they said as long as the relay cuts power to the driver I can use it, I have also looked over the data sheet and it’s still a little unclear. This is the link for the iot relay https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14236. Do I just simply plug my driver into this and then the iot into the outlet. How will the iot sense that the power is dimmed to 10% and kill power to the driver?

Internet of things(iot) devices need a controller. Your controller will be the what controls the relay function. If said controller has the ability to dim, that would be as easy as time or percentage based on your program.
