I am waiting for my delivery today from Roget, two reels one CC 5000K and one CC 3500K. I have been looking into design and I have decided to go with the following:

1. One HLG-185C-C500B driver with 200 - 400v Vf. One meter of the Samsung strip is 120leds 2.9v x 120 = 348v at 200mA. Two parallel strings will equal 400mA using 2 meters. This should give me about 160w.
2. One HLG-C185H-C1050B for a total voltage of 95 - 190v. I would have to wire five parallel strings of 0.5 meter each parallel for a total of 190W
3. One HLKG-240H-C1050B with voltage of 119 - 238v which would use 2/3 of a meter per parallel string for a total of five strings for a total power of 230W
choices. I have all three drivers. I am waitin

really easy. Just figure out the Vf forward voltage for samsung it is 2.9v. count your diodes in the string. 1m = 120 diodes 0.5m = 60 diodes. 0.25m = 30 diodes. Add up the Vf to get as close as you can to the maximum voltage of the driver you want to use. Wire the strings in parallel. Each string will get the same voltage and because they are Constant Current, each string will draw 200mA. Current is additive for parallel. Make strings until you run out of AMPS. Each string is 200mA, so 5 strings is 1000mA or 95% of 1050mA the capacity of any C1050A/B meanwell driver. Now you cna pick a driver with the power or watts you want 185H is 200w, 240H is 250w, 320H is 300w and 120H is 100w and 80H is 50-80w. Hope that helps. This is for constant current. If you do Constant Voltage which uses half as many diodes and not very efficient you just get a 24v power supply in the wattage you want 100w-400w and connect strips in series until you run out of power.

I realize now I answered myself. Carry on...

@StonerCol: Ebay. http://ebay.to/2tqfFMP

Nice strips, good guys to work with. Wish they came with more documentation, but the strips are well made by TCI in Italy, and diodes very efficient, close to Samsung's top line and similar to the Bridgelux EB strips. They are discontinued by the manufacturer, so who knows how long they will have them in stock.

Haha I bought my old gen citi cobs from these guys, still havnt used them. But they were easy to deal with. Nice to see they are doing good business. I like the look of these strips.

Tbh the test results from Cobby have me a little spooked about ordering any strips from alibaba.

I've only emailed buy-components.com but I will try to call them today and get a quote on h-series and f-series strips manufactured by samsung.
What test results nogod?

Jerry from Kingbright is on Alibaba everyone's favorite cob supplier so the Alibaba is a myth. Got my second order just like the first. Perhaps you have not paid for your order.

Design Parameters: 1.
Drivers:
1. C500B Vf 200-400v
2. C700B Vf 143-286v
3. C1050B Vf 95-190v
4. C1400B Vf 71-143v
Strips have 7 diodes in a segment.
C500B - 2 strips 130leds ea = 260 diodes (200w)
C700B - 3 strips 96 leds ea = 273 diodes (200w)
C1050B -5 strips 65 leds ea = 315 diodes (200w)
C1400B-7 strips 49 leds ea = 343 diodes (200w)
240H-C1050B- 5 strips 80 leds ea = 385 diodes (250w)

The best choices is the most diodes providing the most even distribution of light intensity over the given area. I am going to use the 240H-C1050B driver for a 250w veg light and a 185H-C1400B driver for a second veg light of (200w) both lights will have mixed spectrum of 3500K and 5000K on the same fixture. I will have a 385 and 343 diode QB like boards for the cost of $100 incl S&H and $65 in misc aluminum flat stock.
not bad and certified Samsung lm651C S6 bin

I've experienced Chinese doing very submissive but if they can they give a shit on you!
There is unfortunately no way to verify a built-in 5630 chip and usually their strips consists of so-called 5630 or 5730 from Epileds not from Samsung!
Of course, they could actually use SM561c if they wanted, but a first board test from Cobby shows that they probably do not.
I know that @OLD MOTHER SATIVA has already spoken with his seller because of the results and that the dealer wants to send new 6x22" board samples! The seller swear it up and down it were real 561c diodes, Lol!
Maybe the new ones will be better(with real 561c) and on par with the QB's, but for now I stay warily against this seller...

Not all Chinese suppliers are as serious as Jerry, unfortunately ... Many of them have to learn that they do better business when they work seriously and some backyard manufacturers never learn it.
Have you ever bought one of these chinese multichip bulbs aka cornbulbs? They do not even hold 2 months because of the unspeakably poor quality of the used components...
They do not even hold 1000h although they are given with 50,000h.
