Flying pest smaller than fungus gnat?

Anyone familiar with something thats smaller than fungus gnats? They look like tiny little white specs of dust. I literally they they were dust until I got my microscope out. They dont seem to be attracted to my sticky traps. Trying some apple cider vinegar next. I've already sprayed the tops of my soil pots. they dont seem to be interacting much with my plants. But its hard to tell because they are SO small.

in spring time I get little hoppers, tiny green/white flying things that love my t5's. they dont seem to harm anything

I will do my best to take some, but I have a feeling they won't show up on cam. They are the smallest flying big I've ever seen. I literally mistook them for dust

If you have tiny white splotches in your leaves or if it's bad your bottom leaves will start dying it could be thrips. Thrips are very tiny white flies and if you can physically see them then you may have got em pretty bad. Thrips could explain the issues you have been having recently that everyone thinks is ph/absorption related.
Luckily it's super easy to kill them if you do have thrips...just get some Monterey garden spray and spritz the plant. Spinosad is the active ingredient. It's even ok to lightly spray the buds as long as you've got 10 days or more before harvest. Just a couple applications should do it but do it again a few weeks later just to be sure they are gone. Neem oil will also work but it takes a bit longer to work on them. If you add neem seed meal as an amendment to your mix & recycle the soil it will act as a natural defense against them. Only trouble with thrips is that once they damage the leaves they won't recover they will just wither & die. So if you catch them early it's not a big deal but once your plant is defoliated by then you will have to give them more veg time to recover.

Do you know how I can confirm thrips? I've checked the plant but im not seeing any signs of insect on the leaves or buds.

I looked them up on Grow weed easy but I haven't noticed any of those symptoms. I will stay alert though.

No the actual bugs themselves are very small & hard to see but if you have them they will leave like weird little white splotches on the leaves. Sort of looks like a white mark that follows the veins in the leaf . If it is bad the affected leaves will get light green and droopy and look kinda sickly. Severe infestations the bugs will be evident on the underside of the leaves. They bite under the veins of the leaf and slowly suck the life outta them. That is if you have them anyway

I know this is not tiny little flies and not what you have, but I just saw this and I think this guy is nuts, dude built electric fence electrocutor for flies..LOL idea for you.. LOL set one of these up...

(i still think it's gnats, erased crazy long story post here a minute ago, but now I wish I hadn't, I re-believe it is gnats, just a different type and smaller, or fruit flies of some kinds.)

If those fuckers start doing laps under your light/above your plant after you bump the plant then its probably whiteflies.

They do, but I imagine any flying insect is probably going to do laps when disturbed. I'm going to go and see if I can find them on the plants now, Haven't seen any yet. Going to start a spray regiment just in case.

Look for the evidence of damage
