When do i start to use Kool Bloom?

Im on day28 of flower my nutes have been full strength and showing some tip burn at the very tips of leaves.
Im thinking reduce the amount of Maxibloom to 1 and 1/2 teaspoon per gallon instead of two teaspoons per gallon(full strength) and start using Koolbloom at half strength soon.
The plant im growing is northern light blue which usually finishes in 56 days.

What do you think of this and when should i start using powdered kool bloom or pk addtive? do i even need a pk additive with koolbloom? It is one isnt it?
 
If you're seeing nute burn then water with plain water for a few watering's and then resume with maxibloom at reduced strength. You don't need a PK booster if you're having nute burn. It won't increase your yield and if anything it will reduce the yield and quality of the finished product by putting more nutes on an already over nuted plant. The plant is telling you that it has all it needs. Give it a break. It's a weed. It's requirements are minimal. You don't need a bunch of overpriced bloom boosters to get good buds. Less is better.

Maxibloom has all the PK your plants need. Koolbloom is just monopotassium phosphate with some nitrogen, magnesium, and sulfur added. All that is already in Maxibloom. You don't need all those additives unless you like parting with your money unnecessarily.
 
I've used it too.
Makes for BIG buds. I started the 1st week of 12/12 and used it for a month.

This is Super lemon haze fed with Kool blooms.

ive used maxi for many years,, ive never gone above 1 tsp per gal,, w/ flood n drain or dwc in all honesty u can get away w/ using 1/2 tsp per gallon plants will be healthy.. during veg i use 1/2 tsp per gallon of maxi gro for seedlings and rooted clones,, once they have taken off i go 1 tsp per gal,,never above that..
for bloom weeks 1 & 2 i use 1/4 tsp of maxigro and 3/4 tsp of maxi bloom
weeks 3-6 1 tsp per gal of maxi bloom alone
weeks 7 & 8 1 tsp per gal maxi bloom and 1/4 tsp of powder koolbloom..
in tests w/ and w/out the powder koolbloom plants recieving koolbloom for the last 2 weeks of bloom finish 3-5 days sooner than plant w/out it..
tests w liquid koolbloom,, never yielded any big differences w/ or w/out.. the maxi seems to grow healthy plants all by itself..
i normally flush for 3-5 days w/ 1 tsp of kleen per gal,, it also cleans my flood table of white residue in the 3-5 days.. some say flush is not needed,, that maybe in soil or organics,, in hydro i feel the flush makes finished product taste better, burn better, oh and i like the fall colors it brings out in the leaves...

4 grams per gallon max and theres absolutely no reason to stack kool bloom on top of maxi bloom

that's just silly

theres already tons of P and K in maxibloom and its already light on N

adding kool bloom will fuck your shit up for sure

kool bloom is good to add to boost p and K but the maxiblooom is already very substantial in p and K

honestly youd be better of mixing this for bloom

2grams maxibloom and 2 grams maxigrow + 2.5 mls calmag

With very soft water or Ro water in a coco blend even:
2.5 ml/gal calmag, 3/4 tsp/gal maxi. That's it. 1.7-1.8 EC total.
In decent city tap water, like San Jose, Santa Cruz, salinas, etc, zero calmag, 1tsp/gal of maxi. That's it.
No need for p/k booster like koolbloom imo, and I've used it allot over the years. No more for me.

Bigger yields without rockin the p/k

From my experience with the stuff, I'm sure we've talked about this before too so forgive me, yes it will finish up the buds quicker. Make them a little more dense for being done a lil quicker, but without it, they finish fine and yields are bigger. I've been using the shit on and off since it first came out as Kabloom.
 
theres a crucial balance between potassium , calcium , and magnesium

its referred to as the "cation" between elements

if the balance between these three elements is off you will have nothing but issue

the balance between elements is more critical than the amount of element

adding all that bloom adds excess P that's not used by the plant and it adds oodles of K that will lock out your magnesium first and calcium second

you don't get more by adding more

you get more by providing a balanced fertilizer that give the plant what its asking for given its stage of growth

trying to force the plant to do what its not naturally meant to do it a flawed thought process

your goal is to provide the plant with what it needs to reach its genetic potential
not to force it to do this or that
 
lets use a human as an example

youd give your child a proper balanced diet

to much and the kid ends up unhealthy
to little and the kid end up unhealthy

if you feed your kid excessive beef only its not going to make him grow faster or make his dick bigger
(aka change his genetic potential).. its just going to mess up his gut

you want to feed a well balanced diet providing all the essential elements in balance to create ideal health conditions

in my experience and in my growing conditions I could never get good results running a high EC like 1.7 or whatever

for me the sweet spot is EC 1.2 or 1.3 of a well balanced solution

anything over that and its nothing but problems
over fertilization
lockout
frequent need to flush
reduced yield
extra stretch
and shitty tasting pot

many say they feed that high with good results, maybe they do! but I would argue theyd have a better result using less

I first started with 1.7 in a recirculating setup long time ago. It is pretty much 1/2 strength of the old 1/2/3 floraseries recipe. Worked great back then still does in many dif setups for myself and many others i know.

That's strange imo. Because from my experience, in a recirculating setup, shit is dialed in when the ppm's are stable in the rez. For me that's always been 1.7-1.8EC.

Because 1.7 always has worked great for me in a recirculating setup, I've rocked that number in drain to waste for long time too. Just gotta water until enough runoff is keeping the salts from building up.

That could also be why i had some minor tip burn, i was only putting in three glasses of mixed nute water every two days with no run off. But i was on full strength too which i changed.
I used to be a canna guy but changed to GH as the powders are so cheap so feel like their range has me learning all over again.

you are wright!! plants w/out powder koolbloom will finish just fine.. i notice no big difference in potency, YIELD, and overall plant health with or w/out powder kabloom.. the only difference is finish time,, is it worth the money?? probably not.. i pay $22.00 for 2.2 lbs of powder kool bloom and using it for only the last 2 weeks of flower at 1/4 tsp per gallon in a 50 gallon rez.. 2.2 lb last me over a year in that year i get roughly 7 flower cycles,, w/out it i would get 6,,, so for me, i dont mind spending 22 dollars per year if it saves me 3-5 days on each run as w/ 7 runs thats saved 35 days in bloom per year...

ive been growing for many many years and i am always learning,,if i was talking to a newbe i would recamend using maxi alone, no boosters or finishers.. ive done tests w many nutrient lines and i would say most of them grow great weed once youve dialed in the wright mix..maxi is good for me as it grows great weed at a much lower cost..

i was recently turned on to j.r.peters jacks classic citrus and potassium,,, it is cheaper than maxi, however the money saved is spent on ph down as jacks doesnt balance the ph and maxi does... ive used jacks in veg w/ good results but as of now still havnt tried a bloom cycle with it,,,hard for me to try something new,, u know if it aint broke,,,anyways grow well and be well to all!!!

Hello, New on this forum. Been growing for a few years and am interested in using MaxiBloom outdoor to finish of the season. Been using Flora series up to now and brewing my own compost tea. Would appreciate some input.

ive heard that from a lot of guys running the high EC

but when yields go up and stretch goes down from feeding a lower EC and showing no def and no salt build up I gotta listen

but on the other hand if EC 1.7 is what it takes to make your reservoir stable then so be it I guess... maybe we have different ideas on what a stable reservoir looks like

ive never grown outdoors, that said,, i cant say to use or not use the koolbloom powder.. indoors it is only used for the last 2 weeks,, if u feed it to plants to early they will finish to soon and yields will be less..i would recomend the use of koolbloom only to people who have grown for awile, and know the nutrients they use very well.. as i said and others have said plants grow fine and bloom fine W/OUT the use of koolbloom, koolbloom will not increase yields much, i use it because it makes the plants ripen...if used correctly plant getting koolbloom the last 2 weeks of bloom will finish 3-5 days sooner than plants that did not get it...yields,potency, etc no difference with or w/out,, it simply makes plants finish sooner...

if your growing outddors and have only a few weeks of good weather before a frost or something it may help to finish the plants before the bad weather hits...but in this situation your better off having a strain that finishes sooner.. i live in mi,, the use of koolbloom would do no good if i wer trying to bloom a sativa dom strain outdoors.;..
 
well i use it thelast twoweeks and the tris were 1/4 amber motly cloudy at day 48 where i gave the chop. this strain usually finishes between 50 and 55 days.
Glad i used it asjust after i chop the real estate wanted to show my place to potential buyers, so i was busy trimming all day and cleaning up and pulling apart my tent all day before the inspection.
 
ive tried many nutrient lines over the years,, from 2001-2003 i did side by side comparisons on 2 4x4 flood tables, same strain, same lighting,conditions, everything the same exept the nutrients...many were 3 part nutes, what i found was they all work,, once u get the mix wright or dialed in to your strain you get healthy happy plants.. i liked general hydroponics and plant life 3 part nutes best,followed by fox farm, dyna grow, and botanicare. B.C,and advanced worked well but i had alot of problems w yellowing and ph stability till i got the mix wright.. in 2-3 years of side by side testing i found the 3 part nutes just wer not cost effective,,i wanted healthy plants w big yields, potency all at the lowest cost possible..for this i liked the 1 part grow, 1 part bloom, or all in 1,, like foiliage pro, flora nova, and maxi series... all 3 work great, are easy to use and grow healthy big plants,, so it all came down to cost..maxi is by far the cheapest, but cheap in this case did not mean its not as good,, it grows just as well as the other 2 at a lower cost per run.. all my tests wer done w base nutes only, no bloom boosters or aditives.. i did seperate testing with aditives and bloom boosters after i knew the average yield and quality you get w the base nutes only..most base nutrients contain the npk and micro nutes to get healthy happy plants w/ out additives or boosters,, most boosters and additives in my opinion are a waste of money,, however silicate , kelp, and vitamin b.all have a time and place...i no longer have the room, time, or money to do testing and there are alot of nutrients that i havnt tried or even heard of back then,, i hear good things about canna, j.r.peters, and more that i have not tried..so as long as u grow, to each his/her owne, whatever nutrient line you use, as long as your happy and your plants are happy, that is the best for you!!! if you use boosters or additives and think they help,, use them,, it sure doesnt hurt..
