Ive been playing around with concentrates for awhile and recently did an ethanol winterization this is how:
6 grams of purged Bho. Already very tasty Lets see if we cant clean it up. This is that same 6 grams desolved in about 250 ml of 190 proof ethanol.

After 48 hours in the freezer cloudy white precipitate has crashed out of the ethanol.

This is a 500 ml buchner funnel and my vacuum chamber empty. i pumped the air from my chamber and hooked it up to the vacuum port of my funnel. i used this instead of a vacuum pump so that i could control the vacuum by feathering the valves on my chamber.
After filtering the solution i placed it in a pyrex dish and placed a furnace filter over top to keep out debris. i then set a fan blowing over the ethanol.
After most of the alcohol had evaporated i was left with a chalky white residue which was extremely bad looking. This was just left over water from the ethanol and disappeared once fully dry. What was left in the pyrex was extremely hard and tacky, next time i will scrape it up before it has a chance to fully dry.
After 48 hours in the vacuum chamber I ended up with 5.5 grams of clear rock hard shatter.

Hi, sorry for my noob question but are you using a filter inside the funnel? never used one.

That's a lot of work for very little pay out.

i mean its a half g of random plant molecules taken out. that much less harsh no? i just did the same but also incorporated some terpenes so its pulln snap rather than shatter and prone to auto-buddering

and its also that much more harsh...what brand Alch? afraid store stuff will leave some adverse tastes

I found using a styrafoam cooler with some dry ice in it works well instead of a freezer. Just poke a small hole into the side for the hose to go through

Yes the filters are these little round ones that fit into the funnel. I wish I had taken a picture of what was left on the filter after i was done. It was a small but significant amount of a white very waxy substance. My opinion on the whole thing is yes. Its cool. Yes it produces a less harsh more pure product buuuuuuut. The process is time consuming you need esoteric lab equipment to do it properly and the end product while more potent lacked some of the flavors that bho has. I like to play in the laboratory so it was a fun learning experience for me. Now the vacuum filter can be put to its intended use.....the most pure crystaline DMT I can make...more to come.

ok, i got a funnel from ebay with a white thing inside it. is that the filter or should i insert another on top of it? I don't think i can remove it.
