light movers

My bro used to use one in an 8x8 tent with just 1, 1000W unsealed parabolic fixture in it. He had pretty good results with it. I think the main benefit comes from running less light than normal in your room but still distributing it to the plants, keeps things cooler than running the "proper" amount of light. If I were to choose between a light mover or buying more lights and possibly adding some cooling I would choose the latter hands down.
BTW for cooling, I just came across a new design by Climate Right, called the Climate Right 2500 and Climate Right 5000 which are portable AC units meant to cool dog houses, campers and TENTS! The great thing about them is that they sit outside your room and are a sealed and ducted system (which is great for using CO2 as you won't be exhausting any air).
 
I use them, and ideally ^ is correct. I am able to squeeze another tray of five gallon pails in my flowering space because of the mover(s) so I got lucky. It was tricky to create/find the sweet spot I used my light meter for 10 minutes and got it. Thats five more plants cycled for me with one less light. literally, I shut off a 1k light for this trial.

the pain in the ass mover saves me about 15 dollars in power, a little ac. But as stated my lights caress the tops of my plants with each pass sooo.....

I could see how that can work.

I really meant to caution the trying to double the footprint.
 
and honestly....the jury is still not in on this here. I have one mover moving at lights on now but might stop it and turn on another anyways. I dont like the cramp
 
I let my plants grow in to the space as opposed to adjusting the height and this has worked great for me so far. At least for what my current expectations are given my experience. I may hang it closer to the canopy and try and determine the sweet spot once I am running one strain from clones. It's a 5x9 space.
