Humidity reading different on both devices??

So I have checked the humidity on BOTH my normal temp/RH device that I use for the garden, as well as the new hydrometer I purchased off amazon (for curing in jars). I put both in a small tupperware with salt water in a bottle cap (Like all the youtube videos) and both came out to read 75% humidity. So technically both read correctly. But in the tent in real time scenario they never read the same? Could it have something to do with wind from the fan and maybe a breeze is hitting one? theyre only maybe 8in apart lol, both sitting on top of the buckets directly under the canopy... just curious as I am about to harvest soon

If they're both sitting on top of buckets containing plants depending on the soil or medium your using one may contain more water content than the other. I generally just hang mine in the center of my rooms but moving them closer to plants or if I get too close can change the reading.

Ahhhh nice ok didnt think of that...i just put them both in an open tupperware together (resting on top of both pots - light right in the middle of the two) well see what they read in a bit! Thanks man

No problem humidity isn't constant throughout a room so no worries
