He's just being biased. COBs and QBs are on the same level. Can't go wrong with either.
What makes quantum boards so good and why is that all you would consider for that grow space? Just curious
No bias here I have both and blurple. QBs are easier to work with IMO. Thin profile, more flexibility with height restrictions. Better heat distribution. Better light distribution IMO. Less plant training for my manifolds, plants spread out under QBs.

Ask around you will see, just trying to help i'm no dickrider.

Go for something like this.

You'll have to dim it a bit in a 3x3 though.
that one looks nice. what spectrum should I get? I'm looking to veg and flower in this tent for the first grow, and after that ill get a larger tent for flowering so i can keep it perpetual.

Hey man, I'm starting a grow in a 3x3 tent and I did a whole week of research and discussions on the grasscity forum. I would say get COBs or a Quantum Board. I'm personally going with COBs. You can buy the parts yourself and build a cheap frame using 90 degree angle aluminum strips. You would do good with 6 COBs spaced out using a light meter so you know what spacing gives you the best lighting. I'm personally going with 9 50v COBs because I like overkill lol.

If you want to buy one already made you should check out the TimberGrowLights site. He has kits where you just buy the COBs and heatsinks and build your own frame or you can get the whole frame and lights together.

But it would be much cheaper and fun to build everything yourself. Take a look at the RapidLED sit. They sell all the parts you would need to build your own lights.

The best thing you should do for starters is watch all the videos from this YouTube page. Type in Growmau5 and watch his videos. He has lots of info which will help you understand LEDs and how they work. He also talks about drivers and heatsinks. Def watch his videos. You'll thank yourself for doing so. Trust me.
