Which is the lesser of 2 evils for Harvest

Hey guys another question. I have 2 plants that are ready to harvest (trichomes checked) but I have an issue with the drying proecess. The only room I can use to dry in is way too hot with everything that I can do at the moment to get the temps down b/c of an extreme heat wave we have going on right now. (the room stays between 77-83 with humidity around 62%).

I can use my indoor tent to maintain a proper drying climate for them but I currently have several plants in them on an 18/6 timer. Question is would it be the lesser of 2 evils to put them in the tent and let the light degrade the potency when it comes on, or put them in the room to dry faster and lose potency..I'm going to have to do 1 or the other regardless

is 77-83 too hot or cold? those seem like good temps to me....the humidity is the exact humidity % that I use, so what am I missing? honest question, not being an ass.

I was under the impression 65-75 is where you wanted to be for drying..with 45-55% humidity

Would it be possible to put it in a cardboard box with holes in and put that in your tent, could also put a bowl of water in to help with humidity? Just a thought :eyesmoke:
I actually thought about that, but figured the temp inside the box would get too hot and humidity would be unstable. I'd have to do some rearranging and haven't had the time yet so haven't tried that yet. Also it all wont fit even if I did do that

I googled it, you are correct. but those ARE ideal. I think you would be fine in your 77 degree room at 62% humidity. If you purchased a small window ac or in room ac it would also serve as ac and dehumidifier so that you could hit the goal %s you want. Just an idea!

I know right, but it can be done. hang in there, I did it. it wasnt cheap but it is bliss.
without my controls my room would be 108 12 hours a day
Yea I've run into every possible problem there is...you should know you've helped me out with a few rookie questions yourself..I thought I had most of my research/planning down but as I've seen random unplanned issues always arise it seems. Its cool though b/c its all a challenge for me that I like anyway. Even with my unit running its 81 in my house--time for me to move somewhere cold----Alaska maybe

Yea its a closet that I'm using to dry (the only place I can use). I actually have all the other but the air doesnt reach :-/

62 % is around the buds to hit anyways ... Hanging them in that room will be fine .
Check them daily to judge the rate of dryness ... You can also hang in bathroom .
I used to hang in bathroom with door closed at night , worked fine.

You can also RACK dry the cut buds ... I find it speeds it up a day or two ...
Even if end up at 70% in Jar you CAN STILL dry it down into the desired by burping and spreading out to STEP DOWN the RH to your preference.

Most like buds at 55-62% at stored in jars.

Much appreciated..I was inquiring bc I've always heard the slower the drying the better..I also have some boveda packs for jarring so guessing that I won't have to worry w humidity too much when I get to that stage..

Another tip : let ready to harvest plants go dry completely. At last watering let them droop and dry out. You can do initial trimming on them WHILE STILL IN POT .

Lights off for a day or two ( to stop photosynthesis) by KEEPING FROM LIGHT.
There is no OTHER benefit to darkness EXCEPT it allows you to pull and chop plant AT ANYTIME DURING DAY or when you get home , etc.
Then just cut the stalk when ready.

Remember there are a thousand ways to skin a cat...

Works for me.

I use bovedas too BUT they work best when you are CLOSE to the target RH.
TOO wet of buds will mold up. I jar up or CVAULT the buds with boveda around 69% and they stabilize after a day or two.
