Where to position carbon filter

Hey guys recently got a 1m x 1m by 2m high tent. Just wondering if its better to have it set up like this?

C/F > DUCT > LIGHT > DUCT > FAN and out? Or the opposite with the carbon filter at the end after the the fan?

Hope that made sense, just not sure if it actually makes any real difference or if its simply just going to free up room in the tent.

CF>LIGHT>FAN is more efficient. Inline fans are designed to be at the end of duct runs creating negative pressure with uninhibited exhaust side. Having any restrictions on the exhaust side reduces their efficiency greatly.

I run lights>ducting out of tent>fan>C.F. It doesn't flow nearly as well as when I was set up sucking through everything.

If your extracting heat out of the house then the filter has to be in the tent. The fan doesn't.
If your extracting heat into the same room as the tent it doesn't make any difference if you push air out of the filter or you pull through it. Extracting heat out of the house is a must for most people but with 1m tent you can get away with it if the room is big enough and the ambient temps are low. Personally I'm a firm believer in getting that heat out of the house so your not recycling warm air which is depleted of co2.

Room temps stay around the 19-20 atm being in winter and with only the light and fan in the tent im seeing temps around 24-25 degrees Celsius. So your saying WeedFreak its better to have the air being sucked in threw the C/F rather than being pushed out? And Corey, I didnt even think of the possibilities of having recycled air so to speak, dosent sound the best. Luckily where its all placed atm, is right next to a window (but tucked behind wall) so it shouldn't be a problem getting the heat out unless the wind blows it back in.

Yes, most ventilation equipment is deigned to work more efficiently under negative pressure. It'll work both ways, just better to suck.

you put the fan and ballasts into a wood box, pull a vacuum into the box and direct the exhaust wherever. It looks like a hose coming into the side from the garden and a hose exhausting out the top leading outside. ive never had enough room in a tent for a filter
