No, you don't get it. We are not talking about sexual orientation at all here. It runs the gamut with transgender people just as it does the rest of us. The one transgender male I know was previously a woman who enjoyed sex with men. Now he's a man who enjoys sex with men. His orientation did not change at all. His gender did. That confounded me a bit at first too but was ultimately what made it click for me that these two aspects (gender & orientation) are completely separate.

Many transgender people actually marry normal consenting adults who fully know about their history but loves them for the person they are now. Guess this will also not make that thing in your chest burn with discomfort. ....that emotions thing.

Why do you care about his genes? it reminds me of these people who are forever looking through the curtains at their neighbour's comings and goings.

I'm starting to learn politics is all about people fighting for that which they believe they ought to be able to do without having interference or having to explain themselves all the time. The fight for that thing you used to call Freedom over there.

It all boils down to chemistry one way or the other. Nothing wrong with trying to manipulate it in a better direction. I don't understand the stigma that still surrounds mental illness. It's completely involuntary.

I dont care really except in the context of this thread, ie=separating mental illness from physical illness for starters

I don't believe there is such a test. Every transgender person I've ever heard talk about describes it as a knowing ache they've had since they first started forming memories. That's good enough for me. Does it really matter where that comes from?

This thread is exhibit A on what's wrong with this planet. People like chemphlegm are simply astounding. I can't wrap my head around why they think the way they do.

At the end of the day, if you're a doctor trying to save me, an EMT trying to get me to the hospital, a lawyer looking after my best interest, a contractor building my house, a mechanic working on my bike or car, or a soldier that signed up to die for me, I don't give a shit what color, sex, age, or anything else you are.

I really don't.

Just do the best job you can and I'm OK with that. Unless you fail...then I'll kick your ass.
