I'm thinking of a air conditioner/dehumidifier outside the tent in my basement grow.
No I would like to just cool the tent.So your going to cool the basement to keep temps inside tent in check?
yeah whatever I gotta do!are you running your exhaust outside the room?
you can get a ductless, most expensive, but best option, or a portable, make sure you get a dual hose and exhaust out of the basement, will require odor control. or a modified window unit.check youtubeNo I would like to just cool the tent.
Could I just exhaust to the basement?I put a portable air conditioner in my tent. It keeps the temp and humidity down. I got a Y duct splitter and exhaust through the same ducting I'm using to exhaust my light. That duct goes into the attic and out a vent. It's set to turn on five minutes before lights on and ten minutes after lights out. I would advise using insulated ducting on the exhaust coming out of the air conditioner if you use a portable inside the tent as the exhaust coming out is rather hot and will turn regular ducting into a heater. The only downside is the loss of space the unit takes up.
you would be exhausting heat into the basement, that will make your a/c work harder as the tent isn't that insulated. so it will suck a lot of that heat back in.Could I just exhaust to the basement?
You can but you would be defeating the purpose of an air conditioner. You need to remove the heat from your space or else your just going to be circulating the hot air back into your tent through the air intakes.Could I just exhaust to the basement?
A tent can get pretty hot when you're running a 600 - 1000 watt light. Just curious. How would you keep the tent cool with ice?it's just a tent, how expensive is ice there?
No, you'll be heating the basement and the whole house.Could I just exhaust to the basement?
I had a Tripp lite that I worked on and it was a piece of crap lol. The blower wheel disintegrated then the evap coil sprang a leak. I've only seen the one so I can't say anything about the line, I do know this one was crap though.Tripp Lite server room portable AC. BEST thing available in portables - period! Not cheap either...
not only that but the air quality also suffers, the content of the air i mean, gets depleted after a while. You can but you would be defeating the purpose of an air conditioner. Wasn't a Tripp Lite sport! Sounds like an old Amana.....I had a Tripp lite that I worked on and it was a piece of crap lol. The blower wheel disintegrated then the evap coil sprang a leak. I've only seen the one so I can't say anything about the line, I do know this one was crap though.
