Look For a Air Conditioner for a 4'X4' Tent.

I put a portable air conditioner in my tent. It keeps the temp and humidity down. I got a Y duct splitter and exhaust through the same ducting I'm using to exhaust my light. That duct goes into the attic and out a vent. It's set to turn on five minutes before lights on and ten minutes after lights out. I would advise using insulated ducting on the exhaust coming out of the air conditioner if you use a portable inside the tent as the exhaust coming out is rather hot and will turn regular ducting into a heater. The only downside is the loss of space the unit takes up.

Could I just exhaust to the basement?

You can but you would be defeating the purpose of an air conditioner. You need to remove the heat from your space or else your just going to be circulating the hot air back into your tent through the air intakes.

Stand it in a cooler in the corner with a fan blowing on it. 1000W is overkill for 4x4
I'm growing with COBs, I run the aircon to heat up the room.

I had a Tripp lite that I worked on and it was a piece of crap lol. The blower wheel disintegrated then the evap coil sprang a leak. I've only seen the one so I can't say anything about the line, I do know this one was crap though.

not only that but the air quality also suffers, the content of the air i mean, gets depleted after a while.

Wasn't a Tripp Lite sport! Sounds like an old Amana.....

I wanna say your mistaken on just what it was...... They are solid as a rock. Powerful and efficient too. Server room coolers.....How did that one get rid of the condensate?

You can't buy a better portable- PERIOD!
