Would of been devastating to go through these trials and error with the whole crop! Luckily the smell hasn't translated to the taste, but taste is lacking for a plant that I know dosnt lack taste.

From what I understand you need a good 2 to 3 weeks at least for a good curing, so maybe just be a little more patient for that hay smell/taste to go away with time.

Yea I thought that too, and while that's possible they also seem to say it shouldn't have that green smell going into cure. None the less if terpines evaporate above 70 I need to
Make sure my drying proccess stays below it or the whole time it's drying I'm losing taste and flavor. The green smell means there's a lack of the terpines allowing the chlorophyll smell to overpower it. While that may subside in the cure its obvious I've lost smell and flavor. Want to get this dialed in before I'm chopping more then 4g chunks hehe

I hadnt heard about the temperature over 70 thing, I'll be sure to monitor your reports on this. Itll be a few more months until I am at that stage yet.

Yea I caught one half way through dry and keeping below 70 we will see if that seems to have any difference. Tonight Im gonna pull out the scope and at least take another snip which I will make sure to keep below 70 for the dry.

Edit: where I have it now 66 already smells better after a day.....excited to take a new snip and give it a try from the start.

also reading keeping UVB on the whole time is a mistake.... too much can actually burn off terpines and interfere with photosynthesis...

You are closely monitoring your humidity levels right? From what I read the most important thing is keeping the humidity in check during the dry process and especially while its curing in jars. Its possible the temperature argument was really more about humidity since the RH is affected by temperature

Did you trim it wet? It's just a preference but I trim dry it seems to help with the hay smell

It's stinky in the room and as I trim and cut it, so don't think the plant lacks smell. The room was getting up 78 and I think that's the problem. Yes definetly monitoring humidity.

And no simple a and b setup with calmag and a PK booster during flower.

Edit: but the plant reeks, just losing it in the dry.

When curing in the jars it's not as picky for temperature they say because it's sealed. I might also add there's a lot of ventilation in the area I'm drying. I'm obviously picking the most crowded or worst off branches but I wouldn't call it under developed by any means. They are almost all cloudy so it's really ready to go mainly when I can proccess it. It's a heavy indica strain and will be plenty couch lock as it is lol.
