Quality nutes

I spend less than $200 on my bottled nutes for a year's worth production. And average $60,000 a year in product. So nutrient costs are the least of my worries.
That sounds impressive until you do the math lol.

At 175 an ounce, if you're harvesting 4 times a year (once every three months); you're putting out five pounds a grow. Which is you running what maybe two 1000 watt lights? Three 600s?

I could run the same grow and fertilize mine for $20. And that's me rounding up on my numbers.

I know 200 out of 60,000 isn't much, but I personally could find a better use of that $180 than spending it on nutes (buy another light perhaps?), and if you are growing on a large scale that cost quickly balloons. Organic growing actually gets cheaper the bigger the scale you are on because the amount of plant maintenance and labor you need to spend are dramatically decreased and you can redirect that labor into compost management and production which further decreases your fertilizer costs over time.

$200 ounces. Perpetual, harvest 2lbs. every 4-5 weeks. 800 watts for veg. 1,425 watts flower.

And what about your labor for mixing your soil, storage, amending of the used soil ?
Show me $ 60,000 worth of growing for $20, I spend near $100 on amendments for my organic outdoor gardens and get nowhere near $60,000 from my outdoors product.
Soil stays outside, where it belongs. Not bringing dirt into my home.

I think most people have a base product line, then add a few of the good ones from other lines. if your growing in a medium you can use a mycorrhizae. then late in the grow use hygrozyme to clean up your dead matter. flowering add some Nirvana.

lI don't think anyone uses a complete line up from one company, we use cutting edge as our 1,2,3 some botanicare, and some house and garden too.

you don't need to spend a lot of money.

beware of cost cutting suppliers.
I remember the days of ole....weed grown with all kinds of cost saving techniques. thing is....its never been better than when I wasted money on quality nutrients. been done with kitchen items for a decade, look back only to laugh at myself for the budgeting.

Once you become familiar with horticulture outside of grow store lore and mythos, you realize how much you're being taken advantage of by cannabis nutrient companies and bottled nutes. You can message me for water soil recipes and grow tips.
Thank you. I'll take you up on that offer.

Thank you for the tips. Money is not a problem. I just want to use high quality nutes because I feel it does make a difference in grows. I read many people claim nutes are nutes but I don't feel that way.

if you want a simple, one bottle nute that works great for cannabis, i would recommend GH floranova bloom or dynagro foliage pro.

One of the easiest and effective is GH Maxigrow and MaxiBloom ....
Powdered nute line .... I kicked FF to the curb. This line is hella simple to mix ...like koolaid .... LOL

Another very good line ( I use this too ) DR. EARTH

Never burns my plants

I do not use anything else but these two lines

Hey Budzbuddha,

Why the Dr. Earth 3-3-3- rather than 5-5-5?

Looks like you have pH down. Can we assume you use the GH pH up and GH liquid pH test kit?

Do you also use CaMag or silica??

Super helpful as we've been on the fence about which nutrients. TYTYTY

Dr. Earth ( 3/3/3 ) was just a preference- I don't have N TOX issues with it and can foliar it too. I use this as my veg nute and use MaxiBloom for flower. ( 1 week after preflower ).

Or .... I use Maxigrow from start then MaxiBloom . It has up to 6% of calcium and mag.
So it is complete without adding it.

Dr. Earth NEEDS a spot on PH of 6.5 to be used. It also smells exactly like diarrhea.
The Seaweed solution is used at inbetween watering sometimes . Optional.

The PH DOWN is for the TAP WATER I use.......... Yes I use tap.
I Do Not use RO , DISTILLED or unicorn piss. I DO NOT leave water out for 24 hours or other voodoo bullshit either , believe or not plants utilize chlorine .

I do have DYNAGRO Silica and use it once in awhile ( mostly to combat heat stress depending on summertime growing ).

I no longer use any FF products ( trio or chaching / beastie / open sesame )
MaxiBloom will kill it on its own. I keep shit simple. No bud blood , bud candy , molasses , sugar cane , honey or other crap. I give my girls ONLY what they will use , anything else is a waste and only adds to problems that can happen later.

My 2¢ ....

As stated before these are great nute lines ( no particular order )

1. DYNAGRO - Grow and Bloom ( will work in soil too but really shines in hydro )
Easy to use 2 part nute line ..... I grow with Hempy buckets and use nothing else.

This is a 1 gallon perlite Hempy bucket - DYNAGRO ( 100% perlite medium )
One tsp per gallon of water ... That's it. PH 6.0 and I'm done.

Look at how nice the leaves and new growth look .... Why buy anything else ?

2 . Dr. Earth ( 3/3/3 ) .... Great price , great nute line. They have many products even for amending your own soil mixes too. Flower Girl is their GO TO blooming Nutes.

Same amount ( 1 tsp or capful ) BUT NEEDS TO BE @ 6.5 ph .

I use this for soil containers and it kicks ass !
Green healthy plants - contains humid , insulin, fish meal , kelp AND has 2% molasses.
Fantastic Nutes ....

There are many ways to skin a cat .... Many growers have their favorites.... Look into what style of growing you plan to do , hydro , soil , etc. BUT there is NO REASON to get on the hype train ( like AN Nutes) , it is not necessary to buy multi bottles of stuff .....

Good luck

Does soil mix play a part with nutrients? I'm starting to lean away from FFOF soil the more I listen to you guys. Clearly some of you know what you're talking about and I'm taking your inputs seriously. I really appreciate all the help.

Of course it does.

There are all types of mediums. Non amended peat, amended peat, non amended Coco, amended Coco, peat Coco mixes .

So what exactly have you decided on so far? I've used probably 6 or 7 different mediums and FFOF was by far my least favorite.

I'm leaning towards compost, peat moss and perlite as @Rasta Roy suggested. The more I research, the more I see many products aimed towards cannabis growing as gimmicks. It seems like organic is the way to go.

This is true to an extent. There is so much marketing hype in the industry but at the same time. We are one of the few people growing a flowering plant to make it the most dense, most sticky, smelly, potent thing to ignite possible. So it definitely is a different aspect of growing a plant and with certain nutrients that we need more than others would with a different plant.
