Your plants are hurting and I feel sorry for them.

Still confused?
Oh, do you have experience with high pressure aeroponics?

Can you tell me what I could do better?

I'm still learning, since I've only been growing since like February of this year. I think I'm doing ok.

I, for one, and blown away by your work. My next project will be grounded in learning/improving the basics, but I have to admit that I have spent more than an hour doing initial light research into high pressure aeroponics. I certainly didn't know that reducing water to 50 microns could be so beneficial to development, utilizing small amounts of water and nutrients. I will certainly follow this grow until the end. Ardueno;s and state machines too! Thanks for sharing.

day 28 of flowering for the blueberry

I figured out why they got burned, while I had the soft garden ties on to train them I couldn't check the root balls. The roots grew up and completely encased the mist nozzles.
They're ok, I caught it before it killed them but it definitely set me back. How far I'm not sure, but the roots have pretty much recovered.
It's kind of bittersweet news, it's sweet because that means that my pressures are spot on if the roots can grow up into the nozzles and not get cut off, and bitter because I didn't catch it before it happened.
Lesson learned is to just move the lid a bit every week or so, which will keep the nozzles away from the root ball.

I'll get all the wrinkles ironed out eventually, they look better at this stage than the last round of plants that's for sure.

I've been using canola oil in my vacuum pump and that seems to be working great for my purposes. The reason I tried it is because vacuum pump oil is $30 a gallon from amazon and I have to change it weekly, sometimes more depending on the humidity/clarity of the oil.

aero res
ph 5.91
ppm 244

changed the cloner res out today
ph 5.9
ppm 250

The clones are doing ok, could be better. I had the light too intense, 35% is good (14.5w/sqft). Like the day after I dimmed the light down they started popping out roots. I was hoping they would have rooted sooner than they did so that I could get some more veg time before they go into the flower tent.

I bought a 6" hyper fan to replace a centrifugal fan, it works ok but there's a lot more duct noise with the hyper fan.

Res changed today

aero res
ph 5.86
ppm 235

put another two clones in the veg tent, looks like the monster crop bb clones might root soon, I've got 12 clones of each pheno that I have going

day 32 of flowering for the blueberry

aero res
ph 5.95 (starting 5.6)
ppm 232 (starting 225, added 10ml protekt)

Not much else to report, changed the extraction routing so it uses less flexible ducting.

I'm convinced that even 4:5 is too much magpro, so I'll further cut that in half to 2:5 magpro:grow.

day 34 of flowering for the blueberry

ph 5.8
ppm 227

I've just been adding water to the fill mark in my res, and grow when the ppm drops down to 220, protekt to ph up the solution
next res change I'm cutting the magpro to 2ml

per 5 gallons
5ml protekt
4ml grow
2ml magpro

I've noticed that every time I change the reservoir, I get some tip burn, but that doesn't happen mid-way through the change cycle even with adding grow and protekt every day pretty much.

For next run I've got three bb "blue" (just the color of the push pin I used to mark the different plants) and one bb "orange". I was hoping for two of each but had problems with cloning because I was giving them too much light.

I've still got that grape ape mom in the tent, practicing training techniques on it. I'm torn, because it's an intersex plant, but it really helps the wife. I've been trying to find grape ape seeds but haven't had any luck yet. I do have that florel (reverse) that I bought, but I don't know if it will work and we don't really have room for experiments.

I'm going to run bb for a while, could be one pheno or both (that I have) depends on the smoke.

Stem rub, the one on the left is spicy and earthy, and the one on the right is sweet and mild citrus, very different.

day 36 of flowering for the blueberry

ph 5.9
ppm 230

I added plain water up to the mark in my res, then 5ml of protekt, then 5ml of grow

I broke my ph sensor on accident. New one gets here on Saturday. :wall:

Got 4 clones starting to veg in the veg tent. One of them is throwing out new growth, the other three are just growing roots, but they rooted a few days later.

day 38 of flowering for the blueberry

ph 6.1
ppm 230

Just added plain water to top up and some ph down.

It got hot and pretty humid here today, rh in the tents this morning was about 70%, and 81 degrees. Flower tent got up to 87 degrees even with the ac on.

New ph sensor is working good.

Day 40 of flowering for the blueberry

I knocked over my brand new ph sensor and shattered the bulb yesterday lol. Replacement sensors are $28 which isn't too bad but I've learnt my lesson and will be more careful. I've just got no real way besides litmus paper to tell what the ph is today, my new NEW sensor gets here tomorrow and hopefully it lasts me a while.

Ppm is 220 so I'm going to add some grow and that will drop the ph a bit.

Your flowers look great, and about 30 equal height top flower sites on 2 plants without any (visible) support. Excellent work! How much space (how big a diameter) is each plant taking up?

Thanks

One is about 20" and the other is 2ft.

No supports, but they will probably need them soon.

day 42 of flowering for the blueberry

aero res
ph 5.89
ppm 232

I added some grow and protekt.

Another clone has started vegging, so two are vegging now. The other two are monster crop clones and are still just growing roots.

No tip burn at all on the plants that are vegging, so hopefully no crispy plants in the flower tent the next go around. Next run will be 4 bb plants. Three of one pheno and one of another.

day 46 of flowering for the blueberry

aero res
ph 5.99
ppm 223

Every day I've just been topping up the res with plain water, then adjusting if I need to. I don't have to add anything except water about once every two or three days, and the ph stays from 5.75-6.1 so it requires just a little bit of correction. I've been waiting until the ppm drops below 220 to add 5ml of grow.

day 48 of flowering for the blueberry, they're starting to foxtail but I don't think it's from heat/rh. I attached a pic of my environmentals, they stay right around 77f with a slightly lower humidity in the evening.

aero res
ph 5.82
ppm 219

I added 5ml of magpro today, this is the only magpro that I've added since changing the reservoir. I think in the future when I add plant food I should add them together in a ratio because they ate a bunch of food after adding it to the res. ppm were at like 237 after adding it and it dropped all the way to 219 this morning. So maybe like 4ml of grow and 1ml of magpro from now on should do the trick (which would end up being the same amount of food that I've added thus far). Still keeping the ppms 220-230ish and the ph around 5.8-6.0

Next res change I'm switching to RO water only, going to get a "countertop" 150gpd one that I can hook up when I need to refill. Because my other unit is downstairs and I don't want to carry water. The plan is to get another 44 gal res and put it in the drying/storage closet, and only hook up the RO unit when I need to make water.

I still have more than 1/2 of both my original 1 quart bottles of grow/magpro that I started using around april (through two cycles)
