Newbie dwc hydro help

Hey thanks for your time and apologies if I make a mistake posting..

Using botanicare cns17 grow 16 ml and liquid karma 5ml in 3 gallons of 62 to 74 degree water changed every 7 days max ph'd to 5.5 to 5.8

Last clones did the same thing...only got very light light pale green in color, corrected that when I got proper ph reader as ph found way way above proper level.

These ones are doing the same thing now, not paling in color so much yet but noticing a lightness to it.

These clones came from an organic soil grown purple kush mother. I put them into this dwc about 4 days ago and all 4 are doing the same thing now. 2 have roots that are now touching water, one not touching water and the 4th no roots protruding through net cup yet.

Those drooping leaves are telling me that it's overwatering symptoms. I'm going to take a guess that your clones came in some sort of absorbent material like rockwool or rapid rooters - and that they are too low in the netpot, unable to drain properly and staying too wet. If so, this chokes off O2 at the roots, harbors pathogens and creates an anaerobic environment, causing damping off at the stem. All of this means that no nutes are being adequately exchanged.

I stopped trying to use rooting plugs in DWC all together for these reasons and grow out all my clones with roots only.

If this is your problem, it's best to have the plug sticking up out of the hydroton so that it can drain - and be sure that it is well above the wet line in the hydroton.

This is one of the most common errors in DWC.

The clones were put in soil until rooted then I washed roots clean.

I did though lay the roots on only a single layer of clay pellets with about 5 inches of space between bottom of not pot and water level....using 3 gallons in a 5 gallon pail.

A buddy came by an told me to run nutes at full strength, that they looked hungry and pulling food from lower fan leaves.

I was also thinking lack of o2 as well but with the air stone and so much space that they shouldn't be drowning.

The roots in all keep growing longer and developing more each day still.
