Title says it all. First time attempting to grow and the plant is really starting to grow quite fast. Am i able to top yet or should I wait for a few more nodes to grow? Its currently growing its 2nd set of leaves with 5 tips(true leaves?) Not sure how many nodes there are in total because iduno if im counting them correctly.
Is this plant ready for a topping?

I say top that shit. It looks rather sativa (long skinny leaves) so I wouldn't suprised if that thing wants to stretch and get huge.
Cool thanks, ill top it tomorrow.. gotta grab some rubbing alcohol to clean my scissors lol. Im hoping its a sativa because i prefer fluffier buds, no clue on the strain.. just a seed i picked out of a bottle i have saved, all from really high end flower though. At the same time though.. I've done a bit of research and it says a indica plant will yeild more so >_<.

Ive read that the more green on the plant the faster it grows so maybe if i waited another week or two it would heal faster/be better in the longrun? Im seeing lots of growth now daily so i dont want to cut it then see nothing for 3 days .. im also really unsure where to even cut the plant due to everything being so bunched together still, dont wana mess up and chop off more then needed

I'm not a very experienced grower, however in general it's better for some to be topped and some do better not being topped. It varies from strain to strain. That's what I have read anyway. I would try to keep track of my strains for that reason if no other.

Topping is super simple ....just google images about topping MJ plants ...you'll get a visual and see it's quite simple.....GL

Nice looking plant.
In my experience it's best not to top until there are several sets of true leaves and it must already be growing vigorously (which it is btw, good job)
Sometime soon you'll know when it's mature enough by the look of it. It's a pretty intuitive practice. Personally I would wait a week before topping or just skip topping for now and choose a faster way of accomplishing similar results. Such as LST (low stress training)
Instead of removing the top, you simply bend it under one of the large upper fan leaves. This way there is no open wound for your plant to repair this a much faster recovery with quite similar results compared to topping.
Either way works great and I would encourage anyone to try every style for themselves. I still try new things every time. Hope this helps.

Indica dosnt always yeild more at all, in my experience its been the other way around by far, but that's not to say you won't get big yields from both, its gunna come down to genetics,
I'd say wait a little yet, couple more sets then you will be good to top, buts that's just my opinion man, your doing well so far
Thanks for thr input everybody. Ive decided I'll wait about a week or two for the topping. I plan on trying some type of LST training in the meantime tommorow, gotta buy some pipe cleaners or something.

Good to know about yeild size. I dont really know any growers so I'm just going off info ive got off other forums/sites. But i agree that genetics and plant maintenance/training play a big roll in yeild. Glad in your experience you've had some hefty yields with sativas. Is this the only type of LST i can do at the moment? I cant see pulling a node itself down, the branches connecting them to the main stalk are still somewhat short maybe like 1/4inch max if that

You're bending too low which kind of defeats the purpose. I'd still just top it. But it sounds like theres a split opinion here meaning either option will work. I prefer to top early so I get the V split lower in the plant, creating bushier growth. It's not like you'll kill your plant from it. Others are saying they don't want to stress the plant out this early which I suppose has its validation but I disagree personally.

I do not top personally, if I was going to top your plant I would wait.
Just want to offer two pieces of advice.
Things happen slow with plants. Even if you run into a problem there are two things you should do on a forum when you get advice.
Wait!
Wait for a second or third opinion, see if there is a debate, the plant can wait, even if it is sick it can usually wait.
Second, always confirm what you believe is the answer with a second source.

3lbs a seed? That's my type of strain, heavy toker so ill have to look into that!
Anyways, since I have two plants that are pretty healthy and close in height/ daily growth i'm just going to top one and compare the growth vs the other. Im sure ill be annoying and have updates in like a weeks time lol.
(First 2 pics are the plant im not topping yet, it was the one i was going to initial top but its growing so fast/nice/bushy, 3rd pic is plant im topping/where i think im going to cut. Id like to try mainlining this plant.. dosent seem too hard)

When posting to ask opinions/help, wait until you get a consensus on the suggestions/opinions. There are people like me, who have limited experience, but sound general horticultural knowledge. And then there are people who have plenty of experience and maybe little general horticultural knowledge. Experience trumps the horticultural knowledge every time, assuming that they are successful growing. The ideal are those who have both. Look for those who are responding to your questions.
