Would would be a good light for a 5 x 5 veg tent. I was thinking maybe a timber framework 400 watt vero. Anyone have any Info on what works best for veg?
I have something like that, but the tubes are removed, even though they are clear, you still get more light when you take them offI'm vegging with these in my 2x4 tent
T8/T10/T12 LED Light Tube, 4FT, Hyperikon, Dual-End Powered, Works with and without T8 ballast, 18W (48W equivalent), 2520 Lumens, 6000K (Super Bright White), Clear Cover - (Pack of 4) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C52MGKC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_UzIJzb4YFEKAF
Not saying you should get them but shows you don't need to spend a lot
Hm I never thought about that.I have something like that, but the tubes are removed, even though they are clear, you still get more light when you take them off

But honestly I don't need more veg light.
The ladies might outgrow my veg tent before my flowering ones are done lol.
Overkill? not for a 5x5 - that's only 16W per sq ft.. If anything its underpowered for 5x5.yes that would work, but I think you could get by with much less.
for 600 bucks, it a bit over kill IMHO.
even if I did agreed with that, there would be less expensive solutions to be had.Overkill? not for a 5x5 - that's only 16W per sq ft.. If anything its underpowered for 5x5.
I veg with a 135W of LED in a 24x39 inch space.even if I did agreed with that, there would be less expensive solutions to be had.
and we are talking about VEG only.
I use a 55watt 4ft 7000L LED 3watt (18 diodes) bar for every 8 clones in 7gal pots. that's at least a 2x4, that about 6 watts a SF. 16 at a time total of 110watts of draw still done in 3-4 weeks (not including the 7-9 days to root) this is in an aeroponic style clone system so, I guess makes life better but still.
before that we used a big-o-T5 387watts that's still only like 20 something watts a SF.
what do you guys VEG with, I'm going to guess at least 50% use T5/CFL:. 20% use MH: 10% use low watt HPS, and the rest a mix of led and other lights.
Interesting, so these will fit in my T12 x 4' fixtures? Does it generate more heat compared to a T12?I'm vegging with these in my 2x4 tent

5x5 is three times your space - 300-400W is the bare minimum of what he needs just going by your usage. Can he do that for less dollars? Sure, but dollars are not what provide coverage, watts are, and that was my whole point. Its not overkill but it might be overpriced. There's a difference.even if I did agreed with that, there would be less expensive solutions to be had.

Thanks, I think I will try them out.Yep
I retro fitted a t12 fixture.
Basically removed the ballast and wires on one end. And rewire the other end.
Basically feels like there is no heat.
I assume the same or less than t12
I can't feel anything putting my hand below the lights
