Dont vote obama!

Don't forget to ask about who Osama Bin Laden and Fidel Castro would support.

The rest of the world isn't going to look after our interests. We have to look after our interests ourselves.

Why?

Who would Hugo Chaves support? And Putin? And Amajism-adad?

Vi
The difference is, they don't hold the title "Leader of the Free World." And you assume i'm oblivious to what's going on in world politics. I can't vote for leaders of other countries, but I very much care about their politics.

Do you realize how intergrated America is with the rest of the world? We have to care what they think of us. Our economy depends on it.

Erhm, you see the funny thing is that since we are a net importer, and most of what we import are consumer goods they need to be more worried about what we think than us being worried about what they think.

Besides, we've had Bush and Clinton and then a Bush again and it didn't stop them from selling to us. What makes you think they are going to stop selling just because we elect Obama or McCain, or some one else?

This is stupid, I guess you guys just don't follow politics very closely. Seems everyone has forgotten the public outcry over the views express by Obama's MINISTER of many years, #1 muslims do not have MINISTERS they have clerics if I am not mistaken. Aren't most people tired of all the bull shit lies about both candidates or exaggeration of the truth or omission of some of the facts or background to slant the perception or what every you want to call it.... can we just listen to what they are going to accomplish as president and how do they propose to get America back on an economic positive growth path. How about what will they do to change world opinion of the US so that some day tensions will lessen and we could figure out how to take care of our own before we help out those that despise our help?

oh yeah almost forgot:

http://www.newsmax.com/kessler/obama_minister_wright/2008/03/06/78440.html

The man I spoke of was: The Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., pastor of Obama’s Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago

Doesn't sound very Islamic to me... but I might not be very educated on this kind of stuff.

Well, clarify this a little bit, buds ... Are you saying that the main criteria is that they "like" us ... or that they respect us?

I believe it would be wonderful if they did both. I believe you are referring to respect as military might instead of the way we are. I believe we could be that superpower without shoving the fact down peoples throats. Kinda like how Duh-Dave tells people he disagrees with how he could kick their asses. That certainly doesn't get respect, it gets loathing. The only one I've ever referred to kicking their ass on this forum is you, and that was just puffery. The problem is, even puffery makes no friends. Going around the world letting everyone know that we could kick their asses does not garner respect. It gathers hatred, the kind expressed by Muslim extremists. Tell me the truth, when I threatened to kick your ass, did that garner any Respect?

Why do we need to continue to occupy so many foreign countries? With no cold war to fight why the need to build our military might to such large numbers? We have proven to be a difficult country to attack (once in over 200 years?) why the need to suppress opposing political views in countries with little or no resources to offer the US or ability to carry out such attacks? Why dance around the UN when we were originally part of creating it and claim to continue to support it? The UN is supposed to be the world police force not the US, UN was set up to deal with international law violations not the US, if this isn't working then abolish it or withdraw from all together. China has been able to come out of the cold war pretty unharmed and seems to have been made a bit stronger by it's isolationistic policies and we as the US have whored ourselves out to the point we have a hard time distinguishing who owns what in the US.

Let's worry about taking care of the countries on the other side of the pond a bit less and see if we can strengthen our country again so that once again we have the strongest economy, work force and freedoms in the world, doing this will only spill over to those around us and become a model others will WANT to follow, rather than forced into being dragged along for the ride.

Without reading the pages between page 1 and here, I'd like to offer up an odd idea. Does it really matter, would it really matter, if he were Muslim? That wouldn't matter to me, as long as he's not trying to make religious doctrine into law, or essentially trying to bring us closer to a theocracy. What if he were a Buddhist, Wiccan, Pagan, or Zoroastrian?

This proves what I've been saying for quite some time now, that the new nigger on the block is an Arab.

Is Neo still among us? He sure threw out what appear to be some bannable speech up there on page 1.

that's what I often find so disturbing about disputing the fact that he is Muslim. It makes me sounds like I care about his religion. I don't care at all if he were Muslim. The fact that he isn't just makes the whole thing even more ridiculous.

I guess I don't really see how you could have one without the other. When I say "like", I don't mean holding hands skipping down a beach, I just mean a relationship that will allow equal trade. Take Iran for example, maybe not the best example, but I am against sanctions of any country. Iran and America can have their differences socially, politically, religiously, whatever, but there that's no reason trade lines should be broken. In theory, I'm all about free market. I think that's the best solution to global problems. Giving the fact that I am only 26 and i've lived in 6 different countries on 4 different continents, I don't really see myself as just American, but as an "earthian" or whatever you want to call it. I love America but the days that of her being the single dominant figure on this planet are over. You're question Well, clarify this a little bit, buds ... Are you saying that the main criteria is that they "like" us ... or that they respect us?
That question alone kind of makes us sound like we're trying to be the boss. That's a boss mentality. "I don't care if they like me, I just need them to respect me...so at the end of the day, they do what I want." I just don't think that's a healthy mentality looking forward, but if i had to answer, I would say like. To me, its easier to respect someone and not like them than it is to like them and not respect them. Fear can earn you respect but it won't make you any friends.

im here, and like ive BEEN saying, idc if he is muslim atheist christian or w/e im agnostic and i could give a damn what he says, but this woman told me, who isnt that religious either, about a passage in the bible explain that a man of muslim decent will exceed power and he over all, and this man will bring the end of the world. idk, it really made me think, and i really think mccain looks like satan, and obama just isnt really tellin the truth of what he really wants to do. neither would get my vote if there were another candidate up for election. but they are the only two really. I just dont think obama is really going to make a difference, he says hes gonna bring change, but no one knows exactly what kinda change he is actually lookin into inforcing. AND YES I GOT AN INFRACTION FOR MY COMMENTS ON PAGE 1, BUT I APPOLOGIZE AND I WAS JUST UPSET WITH SOMEONE CALLING ME A RACIST CUZ I AM AGAINST THE BLACK GUY RUNNIN FOR PRESIDENT, which is NOT TRUE AT ALL, i dont give a damn if he was yellow white green blue or even orange, who cares, i just dont see him makin this world a better safer more open country to live in. Change is good, but only if the change is what this country really needs

Oh, well, if it was in the bible then it MUST be right. :|

The new nigger on the block is the Arab, and you really are stinking of prejudice. You're not racist for having an issue with his color. You're prejudiced because his alleged religion is an issue. And if you're here then you're also supposed to be a big boy, which means you're also supposed to be able to control yourself. Blaming your behavior on someone else is, quite frankly, chickenshit and a cop-out. Either you own yourself or you don't. Once you place the blame for that type of behavior at someone else's feet, you've given them power over you.

Besides, Obama really isn't all that black (or all that Muslim). ;)

See, my problem with that view point is that what you are advocating is turning over some of our national sovereignty to a supra-national organization.

I personally think we should just withdraw from the UN, because it has not really done anything exceptional.

50 years of being in existence and the only thing they have produced is tons of hot air.

Do agree with your last statement though.

I'm overwhelmed by the level of retardedness of the original poster in this thread. Obviously, we need to do some work on our education system.

Personally, I think McCain is the real Manchurian Candidate. Think about it: in bed with big business, especially big oil, was held captive and tortured (and brainwashed?) for several years in North Vietnam. Hmm.
