Banana Crack Information Thread

There is very little information about Banana Crack on the internet (compared to other strains), but supposedly it could be the next step in Flavor Genetics. And it seems that with Banana Flavor, it goes the same for Beer, Candy, etc, and even Marijuana. Either you are going to know you are going to love the Banana Flavor and you will love it, or you know you are going to hate it and you are going to hate it.

So I can see why people have been skeptical to grow it. There are a few other Banana strains with a little more info on them, but for the most part it seems like this is a common phenomenon across all Banana strains.

But anyways. This thread is for information on Banana Crack, and since its Banana line is Banana OG, as well as Ghost OG and Sagarmartha's 60/40, discussion about those genetics are also open. Since those are the genetics that made the Banana flavor.

Here is the Seedfinders genealogy of Banana Crack.
http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Banana_Crack/Holy_Smoke_Seeds/

Sublime looks and impeccable flavour, this is the sound of summer... Banana Mango and Peaches really make this strain stand head and shoulders above the rest. Excellent head, strong, bright and clear, thoroughly enjoyable, trichs from weeks 2. A treat to grow which make exceptional concentrates, a real gift. Her finished product is a lethal combination of flavour and strength, a must have! We took a long time getting this just right and it's now one of our most in demand strains.

Get this while you can, this is going to change your perception on flavour strains for ever.

Here is a thread where someone said they were going to get Banana Crack from a dispensary for $60 an 8th.

Here is a website that claims to also have genetic background information, but less detailed and not the same.

That's pretty much everything on the internet that isn't a Seedbank.

Here is something strange that most people probably do not realize.

Many strains are simply just a certain cut of a certain strain, for example Cindy 99 is just a special cut of Skunk #1, and Green Crack is just a special cut of Skunk #1, and Cheese is just a special cut of Skunk # 1. Skunk # 1 itself is a certain Phenotype of Skunk, which is a wider variety.

Tahoe OG is just an OG Kush variety, and OG Kush comes from Chemdawg, Premium Diesel is just a special cut of Chemdawg. Original Diesel has Chemdawg and Skunk genetics, both with Skunk # 1 in their lines. And there are tons of other examples in the OG/Diesel/Chemdawg line.

And if you take the special cut of Skunk # 1 called Cindy 99, and mix that with the special cut of Skunk # 1 called Cheese, you get a new strain.

Another example is that the Kong strain used to make Danky Kong was a strain that had been being cloned and shared around Colorado dispensaries and had been dubbed "Colorado Kong".

So it is possible to create strains within strains, and make clone only varieties that are only available because it was a weird almost fluke mutant seed that ended up being different than the rest of its brothers and sisters.

So within my new strain, the new breed I make that I use as breeding stock, similarly to Bomb seeds "Bomb # 1" that they use to basically create a new version of every popular strain, but just a bigger plant and bigger yield because of their "Bomb # 1" Genetics. I don't know if mine will be the F1 Phenotype or some random fluke plant, but I'm going to find a plant that has THCV and smells combined in a way that has not been seen before.

Sure, people mix Durban with Cindy, or Durban with Girl Scout Cookies (it's even already in Girl Scout Cookies) and maybe someone grows Malawi Gold, and maybe they even mix it with Diesel. Or they grow Zamdelica, or whatever. But no one has decided that Durban was not going to be their focus, that they were going to mix in as many fruit tones as possible, and that they wanted high THCV. No one has done all of that, and usually when anyone does anything close its with Durban only.

I was looking at these new banana strains from holy smokes. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger though. I can't find much on holy smokes. Might just purchase a pack of something just to test the waters. Anyone else tried any of there gear?

I ran their pineapple funk, pretty nice short plant with decent yield.

Here's a picture of a nug

Not much of a pineapple flavor, it was more hashy to me.

I am growing their Banana Crack right now.

I looked through all their strains and the Banana Crack supposedly stands "Head and Shoulders above the rest" and has Banana, Mango and Peach Terpenes.

I have not read anything about the translation from the smell to combustion, but as with Banana Terpenes used to flavor things, and the natural Banana Terpenes produced by Yeast such as Hefe Yeast, it is probably safe to assume that the Banana Terpene is Isoamyl Acetate, and that it will translate well after combustion.

Different company (Elemental Seeds I think) but personally I think, just based on reading, that Pineapple Punch is probably the best bet on Attitude or similar Seedbanks for both strong Pineapple smell and taste genetics.

Just to add to the Flavor discussion.

If you are looking for Strawberry taste and Flavor, get Erdbeer or Strawberry Fields or something crossed with those. If you are looking for Banana Genetics get something crossed with Banana OG (I really want to get a Ghost OG cut and see what you can get by mixing it with African Genetics or Banana or Strawberry Genetics).

Then there is Agent Orange and Orange bud (actually has Orange buds too) for Orange Flavors, Cherry Pie and the crosses made with it for Cherry flavors (some Cherry Pie crosses also have Pink hairs I think).

Pineapple Punch seems to be the best on Attitude Seedbank for Pineapple genetics, but there are also Hawaiian crosses that are stronger. Maui Waui is probably the best Hawaiian strain they have there.

Blueberry and its crosses, which also can have Blue buds. Grape, ex: Grapegod (I am still looking for what seems to be the best or one of the best Grape strains, as far as smell and flavor). And Bubblegum.

There are tons of Lemon strains, not sure which is best. Maybe an OG Kush Lemon strain. Maybe Darkhorse Lemon Head.

Then everyone knows Skunks (Cheeses, Green Crack, Cindy 99, etc), OGs, Chemdawg, Diesels. Those all have strong Terpenes.

You don't have a clue. C99 came from Apollo13.

You spewing this bullshit just to legitimize your pollen chucking.

You never did answer how you plan to stabilize strains when you can only grow a few at a time.

Real breeders grow hundreds if not thousands of plants at a time.

Lol.

Dong get me wrong. I chuck pollen and make crosses. I do it all the time. I'm not claiming them to be stable new strains.

I have a few that I've worked over the years.

Though I will say that f1 breeding is common. F1 tends to be uniform and keeps anyone from copying your work.

To claim something like c99 is just a random cross is silly. Its one of my favorite strains. I've grown it from numerous breeders. The strain has been worked and is stable. From the good breeders there are only 2-3 phenos.

Please tell me I'm not going to have to teach you to read:

And please show me where I ever once said Cindy 99 was a random cross? I said it was a special selected cut.
