Bahahahahahahah Not weeks, MONTHS. For the CURRENT program. For a simple registration process. AND they base your license expiry date 12months from the date the Dr. signed. NOT 12 months from when it was processed. Oh and the clean criminal record applies to DG's only.

So you lose a couple months the first time you sign up, if you have a legit doctor just go see him again and have him sign your authorization a few months early, that's all I did.
Took about 15 minutes of my life and the price of a stamp.

It's kind of funny how the peanut gallery is quick to dispute with their childish retorts. Oh you are so and so, you don't know anything, etc. Doesn't really matter, anyone can be anybody on the internet. What does matter is whether one is right or wrong and the consequences of following incorrect advice.
Reality is none of you have a clue. You rely upon words, often out of context, from lawyers who have no issues taking your money for your lack of common sense and ignorance of the justice system. But keep believing what you want, ignorance is bliss and you have a right to be wrong.
Before all of these formal registration processes over the past decade you wrote to the Minister to get authorization whether for medical or research purposes. The rules were simple, if you had a legitimate justification and a clean criminal record then you would get a letter back giving you authorization to grow. There wasn't any limits on plants and the only thing you had to do was notify the RCMP and local law enforcement if applicable.
If anything this was more to protect you than it was the government playing big brother. Back in my research days we would regularly have officers come visit our facilities and fields. They were very helpful with advice to improve security and quite interested in our projects, it wasn't adversarial at all even with those opposed to the plant.
But that is how law enforcement treats law abiding respectable citizens. The problems you hear of are from those without proper authorization and have been linked to profiting through the black market. Personal grows are for that person and aren't a money printing machine.
Long story short, play by the rules and have no issues. If you already broke the rules and aren't allowed to play anymore, well boo hoo actions have consequences. Welcome to society.
@CalyxCrusher my ACMPR registration only took 3 weeks last year when it was first released in August. My renewal was submitted last week, HC confirmed it has been received and not to be concerned about expiration. The folks on the phone line are pretty helpful.

As did mine. That however is no longer the case. It hasnt been for a very long time. So to claim that registration simply takes weeks is false.

I am just posting in this subforum to help cut down some of the misinformation. Usually I stick to the indoor growing sections as this is a perpetual cesspool with the same schills regurgitating the same rhetoric over and over.
@CalyxCrusher of course it takes longer if you mess up your application or have a criminal record. Based on the posting quality of folks in this subforum, it is most likely that the delays are the result of their poor use of the English language. While you can blame the government for a lot of things, you can't blame them for people being stupid.

Most 'legit' doctors have been threatened into not signing - DAMN THESE FASCIST NAZI SCUM LIMITING MY ACCESS! - truth is, it is a coordinated effort by HC, Dr.'s colleges, LP's and big pharma to limit access to producing your own meds. Glad to hear you're happy having your head stuck up HC's ass, most consider it an invasion into their personal life. HC does not need to know about my cannabis use any more than they need to know about Jane Doe's birth control methods. There are many folks who are forced to follow the rules and play HC's game, but I guarantee most aren't thrilled about it. They certainly don't come on here praising the system.

No, most doctors aren't trained in this area of medicine. Another falsehood being propagated by the schill cesspool.
If you are looking for alternative medicine you can always go see Naturopathic, Traditional Chinese, etc, doctors that are trained in those areas. They are all capable of prescribing, it is a matter of whether the doctor feels it is the appropriate treatment for you.
And therein lies the problem. It is the doctor who makes the determination, not you. Doctors know more than you. If your doctor says no to your request (and that is what it is, a request) then it is probably for a good reason. Most doctors can tell you are faking it just to get a script to sell on the black market. That seems to be the problem based on all the posts slamming doctors for not giving them what you want.
If you don't like the result, go to another doctor. People get second, third, multiple opinions for most significant ailments so why is this no different?

First off I'm not 'faking it', what ever that means. I can walk into a doctor's office today and get a prescription for opiates and ssri's - which is what cannabis replaced - no need for second, third, multiple opinions for the docs to peddle those killers. Why do you think that is?
Did you actually have the audacity to claim doctors know more than me when it comes to treating my health? No other person can know my body and it's limitations and needs more than me. Full stop. Doctors misdiagnosed and nearly killed me...twice, and are largely responsible for the progression of my disabilities...I have very good reason to slam them. I hate the whole medical field, actually. You, on the other hand, have absolutely no right to tell me who I can 'slam' or how I should feel about the system.

Call and ask how long the current wait times are for a new registration. For someone so intent on correcting others you sure have it all wrong

Well it is fairly obvious that doctors do more know than you when it comes to health. In your opinion they may not but everyone has the right to be wrong.
You always have the choice to ignore the advice of others, that's the beauty of a free society. Another benefit of a free society is the ability to criticize those who are wrong such as the case here.
and lawyers know more about law and police know more about charges and judges know more about convicting..

Of course it takes months if you don't fill out the forms correctly. It only takes weeks if the forms are done right.
You can't fault the government for an individual's stupidity. It also helps identify fraudulent applications. After all, criminals aren't known for their intelligence and often lack education.
Should have listened to the stay in school messages when they were youngsters instead of taking the easy route of crime.
