So I run the fox farm nutes . And start at 100 ppm and increase at a rate of 50 ppm weekly . Also I condition all my nutes for 4-5 days before using.
Condition them? Like mix them up and let em sit for 4-5 days? What does that do?

When I do single buckets I put my water in a spare bucket throw a air stone in it, add my big bloom wait 12-24 hours add grow big , wait 12- 24 add h2o2 , wait 12-24 add calmag, wait 12-24 add pH up or down to 5.7 . If I'm doing 6 bucket rdwc I'll use this to top off the res once a week or for res changes. Any other top offs will be with water , calmag , h2o2 conditioned for 24 hours.

Thing is I was struggling with pH swing until a member offered me some advice , and almost instantly fixed my issues . See what was happening was the calcium was falling out. And he recommended switching my pH down to a sulfuric acid based , and conditioning the brew . It worked perfectly .

Ah I see, I have ff nutes also but didn't use them because I read it wouldn't be very good to use in dwc since it's "organic" so I have no exp with ff lol I'm using advanced now and haven't had to touch the ph so far :D as long as I use distilled and not tap. It was made for use with RO water but distilled is pretty similar

It's a 3 hour one way trip to the hydro store for me but I can get the ff at Ace hardware . And that is part of the reason I like organic soils . But to be honest their are better nutes out there it's just a matter of convenience. I only grow for personal , if I was to try and produce for sell I might do things differently IDK .

Don't wait too long tho, I accidentally starved mine cuz I wasn't used to how fast dwc goes lol here's mine recovering now. Anybody ever used b-52 in their dwc? I used it and it's coloring my roots. Rez or roots doesn't smell bad and it's not slimy, just smells like the b-52. View attachment 3996906 I read a couple other threads on onother site where they had the same thing happen. What are your thoughts?

B-52 = AN, LMAO!

Man, Kelp extract Is much better and far cheaper.

Patiently waiting for some signs of root life!!!...so i bought an aquarium thermometer..a digital one where the probe stays in res....true temp is more around 69 to 70 so the cheap tds meter is off...i wonder if the actual ppm part is off also...id hate to fry my babies...so the soil ones are doing fabulous....about 4 inches in height and on like node 4 or 5...keep em tight baby...i had a critical kush seed floating around so i germed it yesterday (all i buy is femmed seeds)...it popped today...and it was placed in a rapid rooter...think ima let it develop a nice root system and then stick it in dwc even though its not an auto...still have hope for the 2fast2vast but just in case...but the res water has been staying stable now...dropped a lil beneficials in it..stick around fellas...ill need some help soon. .with my setup and everything :p... And thanks for the thoughts everyone

Still no love from the dwc...really pissing me off lol...like i said..if the lady in in the rr pushes out some legs shes going to replace the one in the bucket...unless the auto starts showing she wants to grow up...AND IN THE BLUE CORNER----so the two moms in soil were really pushing roots out bottom of pots...didnt think theyd get rootbound that fast but they did...maybe thats why they are short...picked up some cheap scotts top soil...bag of perlite and bag of peat moss...made up a nice lil medium....also mixed in mykos (bennies) and little rooting powder and replanted to a gallon pot...my concern is one i believe has bad genetics...it has weird twisted/wrinkled leaves...and please dnt tell me ph or anything else...the others are doing fine..it has been like this since it poked its head out the soil...im wondering if it will grow out of it or is this not a good choice for a mom...im posting of everthing tomo

Well, I avoided saying it but, You put the seedling in the hydroton too soon.

I pop my seeds and place them in Root Riots to get them really rooted nicely.

It's after they are shooting roots out side the Root Riot that you can then put them into your hydroton.
Personally, I like the 2" x 2" x 1 1/2" Rockwool cubes to get good roots started for hydro applications (get them coming out the bottom and trans. When running plants that would get taller then 4'. I would put the root riot in a 3x3 rockwool and trans when the roots came out the bottom - 6-10' plants in big hydroton net pots. This was mainly RDWC....

To go from a seedling like you picture, to a roots in the water plant....2 - 3 weeks, if the seedling makes it..

Good luck.

Exactly what i needed to hear...you live and you learn right...its just weird though...i mean why they take soo long...at that age when there was virtuously no roots to get shocked in the first place...damn seeds in soil take no time to get started....but yeah that seed i germed in a rapid rooter...looked at it a moment ago and already has an inch main tap root hanging out of the bottom....had to place it in a little dirt until i get home from work as i dont have any seedling trays just yet...but thanks man....im definitely going to wait till the rooter has roots poking out everywhere this go round before placing in hydroton.. Do you think i should trash the auto or just set another bucket up?...
Again, thanks

Hey, if it's still green and trying - let it run and set up another.....

Now the dwc plant is growing but suuuuper slow...had a lil bit of roots growing but just not cuttin it for me....i pulled the plug on it...growing a lil weird anyhow...swapped out for the one in rapid rooter i germed which has the same growth as it does already..so the process starts again...this time the rooter had a nice tap root coming out and some out the sides of the plug...we shall see!!!!
