Eclipse!

Sucked in Chicago. Total cloud cover during totality, just another cloudy day. People's reactions were cool, but it was ultimately disappointing. Our meteorologist, Tom Skilling, on our channel 9 news cried. That hit me more than the event...

Silly earthlings. This was all just a ploy to get you to look up at the same time. We sent a programmed signal that will cause all of you to want to smoke cannabis and oppose your government, though it does cause insanity in the form of racism and hatred in some (we are working on this but no promises). We do this every so often just to keep you entertaining.

Now that we have recharged your programming, we are going to settle in with a few beverages and watch the show.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Driving back from totality right now. About 5000 people on this tiny dirt road. It was effing awesome.

34 miles driven so far in 2.5 hours. Stuck in Torrington right now. Worth it.
Were you in Carbondale Il? That was the place for maximum, and longest, totality, and will be again in 7 years. Weird. I'm making reservations as far out as I can, don't want to miss the next one...

It hit 96% here. Got reasonably dark. Very cool. Last time I remember seeing one was in 94 or 95 when I think it was around 65 or 70%.

Took a selfie with it for posterity, but you can't tell it's an eclipse it's still so damn bright. The sun just looks funky and the rays coming off it are pretty cool though.
