So. My light found a new home today
I've given up on motorcycles. Too many stupid fucking drivers here in the States.I'm all good. It's gone to a good home. And I'm putting the funds to good use. Going In for my direct access (unrestricted bike licence). Get to take my test on a 2017 kawasaki z650 too
Plenty of them here too brother. They just drive on the other side of the road haha. Appreciate the encouragement. It's been a dream since childhood to have my own bikeI've given up on motorcycles. Too many stupid fucking drivers here in the States.
Best of luck to you!

What's stopping you getting another? I can't wait to be riding a big boy bike rather than my 125. Still will only be a 600.a car would cost way too much to run for me.If there is one thing I miss from marriage it is the Harley.
My insurance fully comp is £1100 quid for the year on a 125. I'm looking at getting a 600/650 and insurance on that will be about 3k for the year. (checked a few bikes like the cbr600. Yamaha fazer for my estimates) i understand life getting In the way. Missing having a room running of my own already. I am assisting a couple friends on their first runs though so got a little fix sorted ha. What pups you have bro? My old boy ace has started mincing on his hind legs a bit now. Still get a few years out of him yet. A bit of glucosamine in his food seems to help ease the stiffness too. What you tracking aswell? Closest I get to getting a knee down on the cbf is when I'm unchaining her from the garden hahaBikes are cheaper for me as well, full coverage insurance was ~$40 a month and for me GMC 2500 liability was ~$100 a month. The truck also required five quarts of oil and something like eighteen quarts or more of coolant. The bike took three quarts or so for the engine and about a quart for the primary, no coolant.
She was easy to work on, easy on the eyes and a blast to ride.. especially from stop light to stop light. She was incredibly heavy for what she was IMO, the brakes were not adequate for the weight of the bike and she did not handle well at all. Fuel mileage was also lower than expected.
If I did it over I'd look at a Honda or Yamaha, I'd really miss the air cooling though which might push me into a 400-600cc enduro since I learned to ride in them anyhow.
Life gets in the way sometimes, it isn't a bad thing at all though, I thoroughly enjoy my time with the pups, we all have to work and make money to keep the lights on. When the time comes I'll have another one, until then my track bike will make up the difference.
The single best piece of advice I can give you about riding is that if your neck isn't sore after every ride from constantly turning your head looking out for other traffic, you're not doing enough of it.What's stopping you getting another? The guys I know who own V-Rods ride the shit out of them and love how they handle. They're all Harley guys with lots of miles on the more traditional models and they voted with their butt lolThe V is definitely your garage queen. They are nice, but motorcycles need to handle in order to make them more than a show piece. The Sporty is a tried and true flat track racer, with the right mods they can handle alright. The biggest problem is the what everything is connected to, that cast iron frame. The FXR is a welded frame, which is supposed to be superior, but they ended up making it longer and much heavier than they planned and it truly fell back into the cruiser category and out of any possible competition with other bikes.
That's the thing about Harley, they don't do what everyone else does, except buy Chinese electronics (not so American-made now, huh?!), they keep to an archaic design so people can live other people's lives IMO.
They say your buying the lifestyle, not the bike.
£3k/yr for insurance is ridiculous!!! I've done it though, that's what I get for being young and having violations with a turbo charged coupe, if it only it was red then I really would have been paying out the nose.
I'm sheltering a Chihuahua-Jack Russel Terrier mix until I can find her a home and I have a Boxer-German Shepard mix for myself. He is great fun, I had him a week and he already woke me up to a left jab to my left eye and locked me out of the house twice. He's a good boy, heh
I ride a Fuji track bike, fixed gear. Best leg excersize I've ever had, my cardio is through the roof and I'm a smoker.
They really are the perfect bike for city living, or a suicidal response to urban dwelling.
Yes, I'm a cyclist that will use the right lane with no helmet, no hands, smoking a spirit on my way to work. Don't honk, don't try to hit me, don't ride my ass, I have shit to do and I want to live as long as I can.
When anyone rides, you have to keep your head on a swivel. If you aren't tired after 3-4 hours of riding your aren't paying enough attention. My eyes are constantly on the move, mirrors, road conditions, oncoming traffic, the girl taking selfies next to me, u-turns people make when they aren't at an intersection, merging traffic is the worst, gridlock traffic is a no-no on any bike, then you have foreground middle ground and background to plan and react to.
I'd need to get a cam/mic in a helmet and make a video, motorcycles really aren't for everyone.
I wish you the best of luck on the other side of the pond!!!
If there is one thing all bikers have in common it is the freedom of riding!
Rubber, down.
