Goodmorning!!

Will be adding more info as i have more time. New here and any input welcome.

600 watts of cobs, 50 watts per cob, 4x2800k 4x3000k and 4x3500k.
5 gallon fabric pots. Ffof and happy frog. Just started a worm bin.
22 days from seed.

My water is well water that i let sit in a barrel with airstones. The ppm are crazy high and i still need to get it checked but its what i have right now.

Heres a couple pics from today, will add older ones later.

Thanks for visit!! :joint:

You would have been further along if you started them in bags about half the size they are now and transplanted the moment the roots reached the sides,

Thanks, this is my second attempt. My first attempt was a couple years ago with hydro and that finished early with a bit of mistakes ive learned from.

I was worried about transplanting Autos.

1 of the seeds never took off so i popped another one under some T5's and into a solo cup before transplanting to the 5 gal. It went smooth and i will be alot more comfortable next run potting up as i go.

You are doing well with the topping, It is better to prevent growth you don't want than having the plant do all the effort and then cutting it off.

You don't want to do that with autos. Hurts final size.

Also I don't believe that. I've noticed over time from starting straight to larger pots that in the end the plants in bigger pots end up being bigger.

Try a couple for your self. Any strain. Step a couple of them up and put a couple in final pots and see which ones get bigger.

The ones in the bigger pots will look slower because they will be building roots. Once they take off they out grow the others.

Can you elaborate on preventing growth i dont want?

Ive been reading alot lately and theres just so much new information im getting i feel i dont know what or how much im actualy retaining.

I mean, it is better to take out a growth tip, than to grow a whole branch and then take it off.

I thought like what bb said. Transplanting autos was bad. The one i moved up from a solo cup didnt skip a beat, but maybe its just more dangerous?
Its not just a thought. There is a reason. Its not that it hurts them. It doesn't. Tap root determines flower in autos. If you catch it at the right time it may not effect them at all. It may also cause them to start flowering earlier.

Either way bigger roots, bigger fruits.

Yea, I'd go with not taking the chance of stunting growth and use big pots to start.

I think you could lst them with no issues.

Autos have a different growth cycle than photos.. It seems to take a long time for them to get the growth spurt, but eventually they do..

Thanks, def dont want want any more slow growth.

Power out the other day they didnt like too much.

My rh is around 60 and temps between high 60's at night and mid 80's before lights out. I know not ideal, but im working with a swamp cooler to cool living areas. Tent has an exhaust fan and air is entering passively through the vents at the bottom.

About 18"-19" away from lights. I raised the lights a few times this past week, i think they started growing too close and got a little light burn.

Heres a couple pictures from thismorning:

what is that, a 4x4? 600w of cob isn't a little too much? you could run them cooler at 500w but closer. maybe you can reduce the heat that way.

such beautiful ladies :)

Thanks :p

Yes, 4X4. I have dimmed some and dropped the lights more. Trying to find where they like it, too dim and everything droops.

Here is a pic thismorning, lights were lowered a bit last night and dimmed some:

I'm in my first grow with cobs, so i'm new. But did you try to calculate your ppfd? You should look the efficiency of your cob at different watts and your QER.

if i try to calculate yours with some assumptions:

120x120 = 1.44 m²
600W@51% efficiency = 306 PAR watts
306 PAR W x 4.66(qer) = 1426 PPF
10% reflection losses = ~1283 PPF

1283 PPF / 1.44 m² = 890 PPFD

which is nice, it is my understanding that 1200 is the ceiling, at 500w you have about 743, which is ok for veg.
of course take this with a grain of salt, my knowledge is limited and you should try to calculate with yours cob value. maybe they have 60% efficiency.

good luck!

Thanks i will get that info and post later. MY PPFD is higher than 890 i believe (could be wrong). Im not sure where its at dimmed though.
