dimensions are roughly 40x40 and maybe 15 - 16 feet tall. if I ran 12000 watts what size ac would I need to cool the lights. I've been look at some horizontal ac from goodman but the most btu is around 60000. would that be enough or would I need more. Based on the calculator it says id need 100000 btus. Anyone have any experience cooling this amount of light in a large space?

I thought you had a 10x10 in another thread? Now it's 40x40? Are you splitting it into rooms and the 10x10 is "a" bloom area, or "the" bloom area? You will need to control the temps in the rest of the grow sections too...

You want to start with it's own central heat and air. Your going to NEED to insulate and put in a ceiling to make it effective too.

Keep in mind that the central will only cool so far. That area with lighting, will need additional help.....Unless you go commercial roof top air.....Big money and big coast to run.....Better have a big return.....

Anyway. Always run a bigger condenser then the compressor is rated for. Cheap way to increase cooling ability with central units...Depending where you are. You'll need the furnace at nights in the winter!

10 x 10 grow tents. 2 bloom 2 veg. 4000 watts each. the bloom will be on flip flop so 12000 watts running most of the time pole barn is insulated has a ac already just not sure if its big enough also gas/propane heat as well I think in the winter time the lights would do most of the heating so may not need to much heat but won't know till then
